I’ve got a wordpress instance that I’ve federated into the fediverse and as soon as I did I went from 2-3 spam comments a week to over 50 a week. I’ve since set up a honeypot and that has dropped to zero. These probably aren’t AI agents but they’re certainly bots (humans can’t see my honeypot unless they’re browsing the raw HTML and afict my audience wouldn’t do that)

There is absolutely nothing stopping your from spinning up a Masotodon, Lemmy, or any other AP federated platform and unleashing AI agents all across it other than your own conscience.

Most of the web is trash nowadays anyway. We should all go back to Gopher and Finger, or other similar modern implementations of the same ideas like Gemini, Spartan, and Titan. Those are small enough to easily roll out over mesh networks that can’t be easily governed.

Already built into gnome in the least intrusive way I can imagine. I’ve got permission from my admins at my school to log into gnome with my school M$ account and now I have a network drive in my file browser that is just my OneDrive. I don’t use it, since I have a nextcloud instance, but it’s nice to have it available.

I’m not educated enough to have an opinion that goes beyond what I like to type. I find C style to be the nicest.
