I don’t get it either. Seems like mostly just a novelty item. I sometimes get the feeling that smartphones have become pretty much as good as they can get in this current form and manufacturers are just trying to come up with imaginary problems to solve in order to stand out somehow.

Just buy any mid-range Android (or and older iPhone) and you’ll get a great device that does everything it needs to and you can stop thinking about whatever the next year’s release does marginally better than the device you have now and use that mental energy on something else.

There’s nothing else in your reply for me to respond to. I made a comment about statistical probabilities and you responded with ramblings about AGI that in no way address anything I said. You’re entitled to your opinion and I’m not interested in trying to convince you otherwise.

I can go days without talking to another human but I don’t think a day go by without me making any sounds. After all, I’m constantly talking to my pet and house spiders and when outside I talk to birds, squirrels and food delivery robots.

It’s never going to be clever or subversive.

The AI doesn’t need to be clever for as long as the person writing the prompt is. It’s just a tool. It doesn’t do anything on its own. What you get out reflects what you put in.

I have over 10 accounts, though I only use one at a time. When I get to 1000 - 1500 comments, I abandon it and make a new one. Had to deal with a stalker in the past and I’m never putting my entire comment history under a single username ever again.

It doesn’t - you only notice the low-effort ones that default to the generic style where as the rest fly under your radar and go undetected. It’s called a toupee fallacy: “All toupees look fake, I’ve never seen one that didn’t”

I’m only countering your claim where you seem to be suggesting that the term AGI was made up to market LLMs. It wasn’t - that term has existed for a long time.

Are you genuinely attributing your sense of life dissatisfaction to the fact that billionaires haven’t died or been killed yet or are you just saying the popular thing for applause?

I’m not unhappy either. I’m relatively content with my life. Things could be better but they could be much worse too.

My mom usually woke me up since she was already awake anyway but if she didn’t I would’ve just used an alarm. I knew how to get dressed and make myself a bowl of cereal at that age and I don’t need to pack a lunch because it gets served at the school for free.

Some kind of a wild cat like Ocelot would be cool assuming they could behave themselves but since they can’t, a normal house cat is just fine too.

That’s not at all unusual in Finland. I walked alone to daycare before I even started pre-school - granted it was at the end of the street I lived on.

I too have flexible work schedule but I don’t feel like working untill 7pm which is why I wake up at 6am.

In most cases when something is convenient you’re giving something up for that convenience.
