I have wondered if when you use water would make a big difference or not. I could get a large tank and fill it up when water is more abundant then use it during drought.

But that will cost me the price and space of a big tank with absolutely no benefit for it. I can just use the tap water during the drought instead, costs the same regardless of when I use it.

Still not had a credit card and pretty sure I will be able to live my entire life without knowing or caring what my credit rating is.

As long as you can expect some periods of very cheap energy before its cold so you can warm it up again, seems like a decent idea actually.

How do they heat it, ideally would be using heat pumps.

What is the realistic output? Seem some thermoelectric camping stoves and they can barely manage to charge a phone.

Also sounds like a lot of fuel would be required which solar panels don’t need. As some kind of backup power maybe it could have a use, but no chance at being a good primary power source. And isn’t a steam turbine much more efficient than thermoelectric?

I only cook on induction, its great, my pans are both cast iron.

Are there any edible plants you can grow underwater in an aquarium? Got an axolotl tank and currently the plants growing in it just go in the compost bin when I cut them back periodically.

They do a good job of filtering the water though, nitrate levels are lower than the tap water I filled the tank with. Just would be nice to grow something more useful as I am already running the lights. Extra lights for another tub is more power use and I don’t know if it would be worth the energy cost.

There are different types of gallon and I can’t be bothered to work out if that is accurate or not. I just go for 1L=1kg.

I would take no jobs and no mains water very happily for land that cheap. A single acre of woodland here, so you can’t farm there either, costs tens of thousands. Even in the remote parts of the country.

PLA looks and feels like any other plastic. Pretty sure it lasts a very long time if you were to drop it on the floor of a forest and that is an ideal location for biodegrading.

Got a cheap 3D ages ago which is why I looked it up. Don’t really use it much though, said I would buy a better one if I use it but only used it like 3 times in a few years now.

Suppose the route is important too. I live in Portsmouth, so the ferry to France is right here and I think it is better than flying to France. But that is also a short flight.

Plus its a car ferry, so its mainly transporting cars with people as a bit of an extra. I suspect there is much more variation with sea travel compared to flight.
