Sal@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Non-Americans, what's it like when you're sick and need to go to the doctor?3·2 days agoI usually book an appointment. Appear on the proper day. Get my exams done, leave, no money spent. If it’s like a screening for something that can be done in a public health clinic, I’ll go, spend about 30 mins to one hour waiting, talk to the doc, get whatever prescriptions they give me, get discharged and go home, no money spent.
One day they’ll learn. But that day is not today.
“Defenestration”.
The fact there’s a specific word for throwing someone out of a window is hilarious. Even the word itself sounds funny to say.
Aww man! Seeing a TikTok of him getting knocked the fuck out would be funny.
See, this is a problem we commonly see as “tone policing”. You can’t really tell victims of actually cruel people to not dislike their oppressors. You’re showing more of a concern with decorum and being respectable than the fact the people are being oppressed.
I think that only applies to whole groups of people who can’t choose who they are. Some palestinian wishing Netanyahu died is a whole different thing from that same palestinian wanting every Israeli to die. And this can apply to any minority. To me, directing rage to the person directly responsible for someone’s oppression is a completely different beast from directing that rage to an entire group of people who just happens to share one trait with said oppressor.
Besides, I’m not one to wish death on anyone, but if they die as a consequence of their deliberately cruel actions I’m not gonna care.
I mean I think there’s a difference between wanting someone to die because that person is an actual cruel asshole who attacks vulnerable minorities and thinking someone who just wants to live deserves to die because of a slight against you.
A wolf attacking sheep just wants to live, some politician attacking vulnerable minorities because they wanna hide something is a completely different thing. If I hear news about a Nazi dying trying to attack a minority and getting jumped/shot for it I will think “well you FAFO, that’s your own problem”.
NOOO THE GIRLIES EXPLODED!!! YOU MONSTER!!
Damn, this actually made me stop and think for a bit.
Even against those who are your sworn enemies, reveling on their deaths doesn’t make you anything other than a cruel asshole.
EDIT: Unless those people are actually cruel assholes. I wouldn’t say reveling on their deaths is right, but some obituaries SHOULD be read with great pleasure. Nobody should be called out for celebrating the death of a dictator.

He claims Joe Biden stole the 2020 Presidential Election2·6 days agoHaving guns by itself is not a problem at all, I’d say. But this is just weird. You don’t need to pose with all of your guns in front of your christmas tree.
Bro really said “Yoink”
Nobody ever learns lmao
So what you’re saying is that if I touched that in the wrong manner I’d get blown across the room?
Sal@lemmy.worldto PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•War Thunder players have done it again: Yet another restricted document is leaked to win a forum argumentEnglish30·9 days agoI’m not even sure how the War Thunder community managers haven’t turned into the Joker yet. This is the 17th time. I’d be calling quits.
Yep. And unlike most toothless consumer protection agencies in the US, Procon does not fuck around. They’ll even straight up force gaming companies to unban someone from a game if the person felt the ban was unfair, and force them to not only return their entire progress, but all of their items and pay them a sum for the damages. Add that to the fact suing in Brazil is completely different than in the US: everyone is assigned a lawyer for absolutely free during the entire process, and customers win cases against big companies all the time without ever having to spend a single cent.
