I was abused by my christian parents.

I would like to live long enough to see humanity mature out of superstition and free the world from human greed.

  • He has condemned the sin of homosexuality and the sin of murder.

Sin isn’t real. He’s condemning homosexuals while pretending to care.

The Schachles were certain their prayers to Father McGivney resulted in God curing their son of the condition that almost certainly would have killed him before he was born or shortly after.

    Lucky! Not magic.

After assuring the record is in the proper canonical form, it is reviewed by a panel of medical experts, practicing physicians and medical professors in Rome, who aren’t necessarily religious, Caulfield said. With their review complete, “one day in Rome, they get together and cast their votes. Is this a miracle or not, can we explain this or not,” Caulfield said.

Truth is not decided by vote.

Do we have any insight as to how they determined, medically, that a miracle had taken place? Or is it another black box that the church suspiciously does not want to share the contents of?

    It’s a complicated condition: https://biologyinsights.com/what-affects-the-hydrops-fetalis-survival-rate/

The survival rate for hydrops fetalis is highly variable. Overall, the prognosis can be poor, with historical survival rates often cited as low as 10-20%. However, advancements in diagnosis and treatment have led to improvements in outcomes. Despite progress, the condition still carries significant risks of stillbirth or death shortly after birth.

I would be curious to know more about his particular case.

    As for the scales:

the Vatican’s Consulta Medica confirmed the cure was instantaneous, complete, lasting, and scientifically inexplicable.

    Where is this evidence?

the biological impossibility of genetic reversal is the forensic core.

I would love to see evidence that this is what happened.

    It’s also a known phenomenon: https://scienceinsights.org/do-genes-change-over-time-what-actually-happens/

Because epigenetic marks are added and removed by enzymes, lifestyle changes can push them in the other direction. In a randomized controlled trial, an 8-week program combining dietary changes, 30 minutes of daily exercise, sleep optimization, and twice-daily relaxation breathing was associated with a 3.23-year decrease in epigenetic age compared to the control group. That’s a measurable reversal of biological aging in just two months.

As for the heat she felt, that is a common symptom of her condition, the thick skin is less efficient at releasing sweat. I find it an interesting case, but I am still not convinced a miracle took place.

  • No, you didn’t.

Why does Eve get the blame for the snake’s lie when both she and Adam agreed to eat the fruit?

Why are women expected to be submissive to their husbands? You disgustingly pretend it’s a two-way street, but it’s not. The bible disproportionately favors men.

    Why can’t women preach?

    Why were daughters considered property?

  • baseless? no.

Yes. There is no evidence of god, no observable base, yet you make an assumption and treat it as a fact.

To claim that God does not exist is a logical contradiction

No, it is not. All of the data my brain has parsed over my entire lifetime suggests to my current self that there is no god. Humans made it up.

to be created of yourself, and not of a creator is to rely on nothing.

I was birthed by humans. Who created god? Himself? Or was he always there? Either way, we can make the same guesses about the universe itself, no god necessary.

We rely on a LOT of other things. Actually, everything relies on other things, except God.

And god’s dad. And god’s dad’s dad. Etc.

Pseudoscience. At least they try to define “soul”:

It’s said to be the ultimate animating principle by which we think and feel but isn’t dependent on the body.

They are referring to consciousness, which is dependent on the body (or at least the brain).

Yet, the current scientific paradigm doesn’t recognize this spiritual dimension of life.

Right. Because there is no evidence for it.

It’s considered the incorporeal essence of a person and is said to be immortal and transcendent of material existence.

    Psycho shit.

Everything knowable about the “soul” can be learned by studying the functioning of the brain. In their view, neuroscience is the only branch of scientific study relevant to understanding the soul.

Right… because souls don’t exist. They are describing consciousness.

While neuroscience has made tremendous progress illuminating the functioning of the brain, why we have a subjective experience remains mysterious.

Does it? Our subjective experience is part of the illusion of consciousness.

This is god of the gaps, but for souls.

Although the current scientific paradigm is based on the belief that the world has an objective observer-independent existence, real experiments suggest just the opposite.

Oh no. Time to misunderstand quantum mechanics.

Until observed, they have no real existence; only when the mind sets the scaffolding in place, can they be thought of as having duration or a position in space.

Wrong. It likely has nothing to do with a mind. The honest answer is that we don’t know yet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double-slit_experiment#Interpretations_of_the_experiment

The results not only defy our classical intuition but suggest that a part of the mind — the soul — is immortal and exists outside of space and time.

“The hope of another life,” wrote Will Durant, “gives us courage to meet our own death, and to bear with the death of our loved ones; we are twice armed if we fight with faith.”

And we are thrice armed if we fight with science.

Faith is a failure to perform science. This article is just more human wishful thinking. They haven’t proven a soul, they’ve leapt to a conclusion despite a lack of evidence.

  • Correct. Whereas your approach is “just make up whatever I like and pretend it’s true.” You have invented false evidence, and rejected or distorted legitimate evidence, all so you can keep playing death cultist with a clean conscience.

    Fuck you for choosing death.

I can only hope that what goes around, comes around.

You have no idea the suffering you are choosing for innocent people.
