Wenn es im Gesetzgebungsverfahren zu einer Abstimmung im Parlament kommt, werde ich gegen das Vorhaben stimmen. Als Linke setzen wir uns für die Entwicklung echter Lösungen und die Bekämpfung von sexualisierter Gewalt gegenüber Kindern ein. Dieses ernsthafte und schreckliche Problem in unserer Gesellschaft darf nicht ausgenutzt werden, um durch eine anlasslose Massenüberwachung von Millionen EU-Bürger:innen, die Macht von Konzernen und Staaten auszuweiten.

Ich danke Ihnen für Ihr zivilgesellschaftliches Engagement und würde Sie gerne auf einen weiteren datenschutzrechtlichen Skandal aufmerksam machen. Das von der EU-Kommission geplante Singapur Abkommen wurde bisher in der Öffentlichkeit wenig thematisiert, dabei stellt es Eingriffe in die Rechte von EU-Bürger:innen in Aussicht.

Das sogenannte DTA (Digital Trade Agreement) regelt den digitalen Handel mit Waren und Dienstleistungen. Es ist das erste Handelsabkommen seiner Art und soll als Vorlage für künftige Abkommen dienen. Es sieht einen de facto Ausverkauf unserer Daten nach Singapur vor und birgt Gefahren. Das Datenschutzsystem in Singapur ist weniger streng und EU-Daten könnten an Drittländer beispielsweise nach China weiterverkauft werden. Außerdem gefährdet das Abkommen die gerade erst von uns erkämpften Rechte vonPlattformarbeiter:innen z.B. von Lieferando und Uber.

Der Europäische Gewerkschaftsbund, der europäische Verbraucherverband BEUC und der EU-Datenschutzbeauftragte haben bereits ihre Bedenken geäußert. Ich habe das Abkommen mit Expert:innen für digitale Rechte diskutiert. Es bestehen zu viele potenziell negative Auswirkungen, um dem Abkommen in seiner jetzigen Form grünes Licht zu geben. Deswegen habe ich ein Verfahren eingeleitet, um den Europäischen Gerichtshof prüfen zu lassen, ob das Handelsabkommen mit EU-Recht vereinbar ist. Die Abstimmung dazu findet diesen Donnerstag im EU-Parlament statt. Um eine Mehrheit zu erreichen, brauchen wir Ihre Unterstützung.

We got to a point where a 50W specialized all-in-one-computing package can handle the workload of a local llm and outpace my gaming-rig which runs deepseek 8b. 50W is as much as a lightbulb in the 90’s. So the environmental impact goes away with time as technology progresses.

I hate AI’s societal consequences and it’s profit motive. I hate the data collection, i hate the Surveillance Tech it’s used for. I hate how it shits on Artists. I hate that people use LLM’s to substitude human connections, i hate the (current) environmental impact
