I fully understand your sentiment. I was deciding between matrix and fluxer and landed on fluxer.I have not abandoned my Mastodon, I just post very infrequently, so if that is a venue some prefer go for it.

I have done some window shopping primarily within EU, and while I do believe in collaboration and finding allies, I have yet to find an organisation within Europe vocal against the restrictiveness in Directive 2001/29/EC Article 6 along with Digital Sovereignty, resilience and Consumer/Citizen rights.

Tyvärr finns det en djupgående myt om att alla som har svårt att hitta ett jobb, måste vara lata eller odugliga på att söka jobb. Jag tror detta är en bidragande faktor till att man tror att Jobb Coach är mer legitimt än de så kallade “Livs coacherna”. Det finns garanterat en grupp där ute som har behov av någon som ger dem tips och feedback på deras CV eller metodik. Men jag har svårt att tro att det behovet är så stort att vi behöver spinna upp en hel ny bransch. En bransch som nu behöver berättiga sin egen existens för sin enda kund, staten. Both Mr and. Mrs,ms are derived from master and mistress (teachers) and both of those words stem from the Latin word Magister.

Edit: fun fact the English verb stick is the same word as the noun stick and comes from the same origin the Germanic word stik which also meant a piece of wood and to pierce/adhere or sharp. But wait it’s older than that the Latin word stigare also means pierce. And share the same ancestry, namely indo-european. Turns out we humans have been talking about sticks for a long time.

I have a 2015 13" Macbook Air with 4gb ram, and a new battery running, Mint with i3 wm and except for a few very unoptimised webpages I don’t experience any significant lagg when browsing. streaming 1920x1080 video without issues(the screen resolution is 1440x900 so no need for more) sure I only use it for writing on the go and minor surfing, anything heavier like video editing or Blender I do on my main desktop or my lenovo legion. This whole - anything less than 16gb ram is garbage in current year. Does not take into account that a lot of consumers and middle managers actually don’t do anything heavy on their computers.

Just as a note. The Swedish Herald is not as far as I can tell not registered in Swedish. They have not posted their organisation number on the homepage and they are not listed on Bolagsverket (it is the governmet agency where all corporations need to be registered.) They also only have listed 3 writers and one EIC. Their different personal about pages say a lot about them but they do not refer to them self as journalists. I have seen them linked to here before, most of their articles seem to be direct translations of news published by real Swedish news outlets. Such as TT, SVT, SYDSVENSKAN, etc, but they don’t credit them. Take what you read on this page with that in mind.

I have made the conscious decision to try and not refer to it as AI, but predictive LLM or generative mimic models, to better reflect what they are. If we all manage to change our vernacular, perhaps we can make them silgtly less attractive to use for everything. Some might even feel less inclined to brag about using them for all their work.

Kommer gräva lite mer i det men det verkar i nuläget vara det alternativet med närmast funktionalitet och interface som ser liknande ut till Discord. Det är baserat på matrix protokollet+. Har själv inte hunnit testa det men tänker nog göra der när jag läst igenom dokumentationen. Av allt jag läst om alla alternativ så är det typ ingen som har all funktionalitet med samma tillgänglighet som Discord. Selfhost i all ära, men det är nog svårt att gå med vanligt folk på det om inte alla har en techie i sin vän- , intressegrupp.
