It seemed pretty fitting for someone with your username tbh.

I wonder if there is a refill cartridge with the flavour in it that the OS reads from to always display the right logo. Or maybe a touchscreen that the workers use to change it manually.
It could just be a backlit panel that you place a semi-transparent logo in front. Could be magnetic or slid into place. More resources than a sticker but probably far less than a system-on-a-chip running an OS and displaying the same picture on a monitor all day.
I agree with all you wrote, and it’s a good point well made. However, in the context of what it’s replying to, it could be interpreted as condoning the death penalty for extremists, which I disagree with, if it was intended that way.
I use NixOS and play games on it
I won’t use Ubuntu Desktop now, but I used it for 6 years: 16 to 22, and loved it for many reasons. I left it for two reasons:
- Snaps
- Trying to get bridged networking going for VMs in Boxes ended up wrecking my network settings and I couldn’t get them back to normal. With more expertise I could have probably fixed it, but I realised it’s too easy to do things that I can’t fix.
So, I went to NixOS for the declarative setup. It’s not always easy especially for niche cases , but at least I always have a working backup. Yes, there are other options, but I like NixOS so I plan to stick with it for now.
My kids use Bazzite and I like that too.

Bisexuality usually refers to sexual preference, alongside homosexuality and heterosexuality. Shouldn’t this post be referring to the flower as hermaphroditic rather than bisexual?
Totally works. When I started referring to things as “skibidi” it was suddenly dropped from my kids’ lexicon.
I like how you didn’t use a single word more than necessary to communicate the question.
Yeah, that’s true. Humans are born knowing nothing, learn from other humans, and are then capable of making something new. Like standing on the shoulders of giants. I wonder if ML/AI is capable of that yet, or does it purely regurgitate others’ work.

I’ve heard this described as a velvet rut.
Personally, I sometimes ponder if this is a part of The Great Filter. We have evolved to survive under constant threats in harsh environments, so when those dangers and threats are removed we don’t know how to handle it. We start to perceive minor things as bigger problems. I wonder if this is part of what we need to learn to deal with before we can live peacefully with our neighbours and nature.
I was about 15 and queued up for hours to get tickets for me and my mate to see Nirvana. I think they were about £13.50 each and then £1.50 ticket fee. Between then and the concert Kurt Cobain killed himself. I marched right back to HMV and got my £13.50 back. 🤦
Imagine how awesome it would be to own one of the few, complete, tickets for a Nirvana concert that never happened.
Yes
