It’ll run fine if you don’t have too much going on. I wouldn’t stress about it, just go for it.

I’d go for 16-core just because 64gb should be way more enough.

The memory you get it was what matters most here if you’ll be using Docker regularly. Go for 32+GB of memory and the M1 or M3 will be fine.

Well I mean when you save a Word file there’s a button on the bottom left titled “On My Mac”.

M2 Air with 16GB of memory. Would be very sufficient for your use case.
