When you’re interfacing with the world emotionally, that’s how it goes. I mean, we’re all emotional, but for some people that’s the bulk of it. Emotions create reality. For other people they’re more advisory.

People making the decisions are removed from how work gets done, how users engage with the product, and any real consequences. But they keep most the profits despite contributing minimally.

Millions of dollars spent to replace status messages and what slack/teams already do. There’s no mechanism to keep it in sync with reality so it’s not even especially accurate.
A real stretch to call that efficient.
I knew a guy that worked at a company that had something like that. You had to walk your snes-style sprite around the virtual office. If you walked up to someone’s avatar you could start a meeting. You could move your guy around to indicate you were at lunch or working or whatever.
Seems extremely wasteful to me but a lot of people there liked it.

My intended point was it would be nice if people were better, and could admit fault. They can’t. That’s a common human behavior that’s infuriating. They’d rather double down. I was agreeing with you.
