That’s huge number for sure! I think what Steam is doing to make playing games on Linux easier is a big factor too.
I wonder if Steam Deck is helping with that number (but I don’t know if that many of them were sold to make that much impact).
- I deleted all my Meta accounts and started using Signal.
- I’m moving all accounts linked to Gmail and Outlook to Proton Mail and Tutanota.
- I’m using many privacy-oriented extensions on Firefox.
- I’m trying to change all software to Open Source if that’s possible.
- I have a Nextcloud and i’m using it to sync my Calendar, Task and Photos.
- I started using Bitwarden for my passwords (and deleted them from all Microsoft, Apple and Google cloud services).
- I’m setting up my home server to host Nextcloud and Bitwarden.
The new frontend is called LightTube. There is a link to one of the instance: https://tube.kuylar.dev/. It’s that frontend that was mention the other day :)

And I checked that without an account so maybe I need that too to change some settings. Thanks for the links! It’s good to heave some other front ends besides Invidious and Piped :)

321·3 years agoThat is so naive thinking I’m my opinion. They probably gonna use that in the long run to connect only their apps (like you can comment on Facebook from IG). Why would they want people outside of their ecosystems to connect with them? I deleted all their apps and I’m gonna do it with every Fediverse app that federate with them. I know that data in Fediverse is public but I wanted to join community-driven ecosystem outside of Meta.

Memmy - An iOS client for Lemmy@lemmy.ml•How to add community from another instance?English
4·3 years agoYou can add communities from other instances via search but sometimes they don’t show up (especially from small instances). I think that they’re not federated with your original instance yet. So the only option is to add them by web browser.
