bingo. you nailed it.
bingo. you nailed it.
Release them where exactly? someone still has to pay to move them somewhere to be released. I mean you can’t just let them loose in Niagara Falls unless you want 30 Beluga Whales falling on top of the Maid of the Mist.
because it’ll still cost money to move them to like Newfoundland or whatever.
This is Marineland, in Niagara Falls, you can’t just “release them” unless you want 30 Beluga whales going over the falls.
Plus releasing them is just killing them. They’ll likely die in the wild.
As someone who is a fan of pro wrestling it’s kinda funny and a bit weird how quickly The Rock allowed his mask to slip.
for years and years he was seen as a nice guy, giving people homes and trucks and what have you, even in the wrestling biz he was considered a nice guy. then the failures started happening and his demeanor and personality started to change or maybe his true nature started coming to light.
Ends up he’s not a good person. Ends up he’s more like Hulk Hogan.
that’s easy. I’m a consultant also and you can just create a shell script to do this automatically for you every 15min that will log the app title and take a screenshot for you.
Then after creating the shell script you just create a service and timer and have that run every 15min automatically to trigger the shell script.
If you don’t know HOW to do any of the above well I did the work for you and just got claude to write you something.
here ya go: https://claude.ai/share/ef030e63-0814-4e0a-b7d1-662bdf4435ed
I would consider changing the name. I, like others, thought you were referring to and representing the Void Linux distro.
the ONLY issues I’ve ever had with my Nvidia GPU were with A. Sway and B. Mint.
and when I say “issues” with Sway it was simply not being able to use a DM to login to it and having to login via TTY with “sway --unsupported-gpu” since the Sway devs aren’t fans of proprietary stuff at all.
for Mint…just didn’t work well for gaming. Crashing, slow downs, etc. That could either be a Distro issue or a Me issue as Mint was my first linux distro and I only stuck with it for a couple weeks before moving on to CachyOS.
On every distro since then? zero issues. it just works. Best experience with it was probably via CachyOS or NixOS. Runs smooth as silk on NixOS.
I’m a huge Tron fanboy. Love the movies, tv show, the videogames, etc. As a programmer I just really love that universe but I’m not optimistic for Ares. Even the soundtrack I was excited about because I loved Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy soundtrack but after hearing NIN’s take on it it was just…it wasn’t that great and I’m also a huge NIN fan.
I don’t think they should have showed Flynn in the trailers and I think they should have brought back his son and Corra. I’m probably one of the few people that actually loved Tron: Legacy, it’s one of my favourite films of all time but I’m bias.
same. I really like Trent’s other movie soundtracks, especially The Social Network which was just fantastic. The Tron Ares soundtrack is just…meh. even by NIN album standards it’s really nothing to call home about and is no where near as good as Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy soundtrack.
I’ve been doing this for well over 20 years now and I taught myself by building Geocities sites and random stuff.
Just build things and push them to a repo. Have an idea for something? build it. could just be something like a TUI for Mastodon or like an eReader with AI driven text to speech, I don’t know i’m just spit balling here but my point is you just have to build stuff. It’s like anything, the more you do it, the better you get at it. Like drawing. you just draw something every day and eventually you get good. it’s the same for coding. just work on something every day and you’ll get good at it.
So just build something or contribute to your favourite open source project.
think I’d rather switch to Gentoo before going to Guix.
I mean lets face it the only reason Carney won was because of what Trump said. that’s it. We Canadians are honestly pretty dumb when it comes to politics and we sure do love our sound bites. Remember PP had this thing in the bag until Trump opened his mouth and then suddenly we all said “oh yeah…yeah we don’t want that lets vote for the guy that kinda isn’t that” while the NDP “here’s Singh, sure he doesn’t have a single original thought in his head but…yeah it’s the best we can do”
Like our choices were unoriginal man, nazi man, or none of the above man.
Isn’t the dev of this game that semi-famous youtube dev that did collabs with like Mr. Beast and others? I assume he was pretty well off to begin with. Think his name was Dani or something. I mean hell the dev for this game is literally named Danidev but backwards.
At this point it just feels like the Orcas are just fucking with us for shits and giggles. Or it’s bait. “lulz here’s a dead seal, they’re yummy…come park your boat over here…we got more dead seals right…over…here”
huh? they don’t work? I’ve yet to come across ANY streaming platforms that don’t work and hell I use QuteBrowser.
what specific platforms don’t work? I’ve used youtube, twitch, netflix, hulu, etc in the past and they all just worked right out of the box.

on my main laptop for whatever reason Windows 11, about twice a year or so, would insist on killing my wifi. Just out right disable it and not even uninstalling and reinstalling drivers would work. It would simply just kill it and pretend it never existed. the ONLY fix was to completely reinstall the OS. so almost like clockwork twice a year I’d have to reinstall the OS. It was also absolutely destroying the battery on my laptop. I would get MAYBE 30min out of it.
So after reading some threads I decided to give Linux a go. I went nuclear winter on it and didn’t even bother dual booting, just wiped the computer completely and started with Mint. Stayed on that for a couple weeks until I completely messed up the install by trying to modify cinnemon a bit too much so then I switched to CachyOS and fell in love with it.
Since then I distro hopped a few times and I’m currently using NixOS. As far as the battery issue? I get about 4 hours out of it now instead of 30min.
eesh, that would be a deal breaker for me.
I’m not up to speed on GNOME, not a fan of it, but can’t you just try a different DM? like SDDM? would that work? seems silly that GNOME would lock you into their DM.
ah I’ve seen this plenty of times before in my career. Graphic Designers/UI/UX/etc dudes that want to transition to coding. Hell back in like 2002 I started out as a Graphic Designer myself. It’s understandable, it’s a valid transition.
So it’s safe to assume Bob was self taught? If you and your company as you’ve previously stated value Bob as part of the team then are there any options for your company to provide classes? I used to work for several places where this was an option for employees. Like they would pay for classes at the local community college or whatever. Maybe they can pay for him to take online courses? It’s a cheaper route in the long run as opposed to terminating Bob and then going through the process of hiring another dev which in todays environment is an absolute shit show.
Maybe consider talking to HR or one of your managers on behalf of Bob to potentially bring up the possibility of providing Bob with some classes? I don’t know I’m just spit balling here.
