it had a recycling depot in the back, unfortunetly I saw another one that looked similar but had a wood-grain housing and when I asked about that one, but they said they couldnt find it 😔 I just know its in tv heaven now. RIP
When I was a kid, if someone had a TV in their kitchen, it was usually one of these
My sister had a portable dual tape deck style radio in the 80s that had that TV screen as one of the tape deck bays. It had RCA out jacks for the TV, so I plugge those into the Tape deck Line in RCAs. You could record TV to a cassette. And then play it back on the console TV in. The image was poor, and the volume made the image smaller or larger on the CRT screen.
That’s pretty rad
My friend got one of these from a garage cleanout but its not in good working order. They weren’t made very well. South Korean I think.
i love these things so much. my dream is to modify one to use as a wireless second-screen for background media, but i’m waiting until i can rustle up one of those schmancy color ones they used as monitors for film shoots.
you can buy a little box to transmit your own broadcasts short distances, and there’s software you can use to stream multiple channels simultaneously. imo it’s gotta be the coolest way to do local media!
that does sound cool!
Ooo, beautiful!!
You should cross post to cassette futurism ☺️

I think .ee went down? So that comm may be dead I dunno
here is another photo:

With the original box! Wow.
One question remains: Does anybody broadcast anything this device could pick up?
You’d need to plug in a digital tuner to it these days (assuming it even has a coax or RCA input)
not that i know of
Thats fricken cute ! What a deal.
I had something similar growing up, but mine was black & white. I loved that thing, used it for radio, too.
I still have one gathering dust. Trying to figure out what to do with it.
