I’ve been iffy about this guy for a very long time, but I fully support what he’s doing here with his support of Palestine and with challenging Kraft.
For reference on my iffiness on this guy, he’s always seemed a bit too calculated with his public facing social consciousness (rapping about white privilege, really?). But he also performed “Thrift Shop” while wearing this costume:
What’s iffy about white people calling out other white people? Isn’t that what we want more of?
Also last time I checked, rapping was not an exclusive activity that only black people are allowed to participate in. In fact, in my admittedly anecdotal experience: black people are largely OK with whoever rapping, as long as they’re not trying to mock rap or black people in the process. Don’t do the art dirty and all are welcome, and all that
I don’t listen to his music, but I lived in Seattle at the time. I never knew about the apology, but I do remember quite a lot of people talking about the costume at work in the days that followed. AFAIK he’s not done anything else anti-semitic, and I’m not trying to tear him down. Was just explaining part of why I’ve felt iffy about him. He can be iffy in my eyes and still be on the right side of history here

I don’t recognise him here
I assume it’s a Zionist disinformation campaign
Stop killing people Isreal
He apologized and even the ADL accepted the apology yet you still bring that propaganda here. Shame on you
Yeah this keeps being brought up now almost like it’s a retaliation campaign, suspicious. He’s apologized about this 12 years ago
