The world would be a much better place if rich people competed in who can feed the most people in conflict zones more often.
When this whole drama broke like 1 or 2 days ago, reading the headlines, I was afraid I’d have to stop listening and supporting Macklemore. The headlines were vague. I’m so happy and artist I love is not a Zionist asshole
From further down in the article:
Pink wrote that she was not trying to get any artist fired or silence anyone but that she took issue with Macklemore’s putting “violent images” of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza up in a stadium filled with families, then telling Jews in the audience that “it wasn’t about them.”
She’s mad that Macklemore put up pictures of the shit that the Israeli military did? But she takes no issue with what the military itself did?
But she takes no issue with what the military itself did?
That’s not what she said?
What did she say about Israel’s military actions?
Maybe nothing, maybe something, but doesn’t mean she has no issue. Finding A in bad taste doesn’t mean you support B.
You can condemn the genocide committed by Israel and also not want pictures of dead people in a family event.
She felt it necessary for her to speak out publicly against Macklemore showing the genocide that Israel is comitting. She did not feel necessary to speak out publicly againts the genocide itself. Priorities…
Whataboutism.
Idiotism
Yeah, fucked up priorities, but not proof of support…
If you are not supporting a genocide then why would you attack people who are trying to fight against said genocide?
Thousands of reasons, greed, stupidity, narcissism, …
you know how often the literal Nazi leaders publicly said they were doing a genocide, and were in support of genocide? while they were doing it? this is some flawed logic bud.
Is pink now doing the holocaust?
She easily could have said, " while the atrocities israel are committing are terrible, I find the use of graphic images at a family event wrong"
Well, technically, she said that showing families the violence in Gaza is about Jewish people, not that she endorses that violence.
But also, had she just said “I don’t think children should be exposed to graphic violence”, she would’ve had a defensible point (which I don’t fully agree with, but can understand where it’s coming from, so we could at least have a conversation).
Instead she also chose to make criticism of Israel’s military actions out to be “about Jews”. So while she didn’t directly say anything about Israel’s military actions, she’s evidently concerned that showing them to children might make them think badly of Jewish people.
Which she certainly isn’t helping by propagating this “Israel = Jewish people” narrative, throwing all under the bus that don’t support the Zionist doctrine.
Very cool of him to do and standing behind his convictions.
Also something I came across today from Two youtubers, Lindsay Ellis and Todd in the Shadows: https://store.dftba.com/products/tribute-to-ed-sheerans-bravery-fundraiser-t-shirt
Seems like a nice chap that I can align with, definitely shouldn’t be kicked off Zionist sympathisers tours for being level headed
Cool.
His statement:

This sounds good to me
God I love to see people centering the need for the liberation for the oppressed rather than any of the other shit, fucking well written statement.
I don’t like to see people centering. Left-aligned text is the only readable option (in LTR languages).
Y o u d o n ’ t
like full justified?
I appreciate this but also it is missing a middle section about a 15 year old child being killed while trying to rush to help an aide worker. Muhammad Al Zinati and Sherif Lubbad respectively.
Could be thousands of obituaries, but that can’t be the middle of every comment on the subject
I think they’re saying that the full statement had that and this is not the full statement?
Ahh thanks for the clarification
Correct, I wasn’t trying to minimize or create any discourse. Just noted that I went to the source and read the statement again and noticed a portion missing. Instead of just pointing that out it felt more appropriate to give some more air time to the names that I did learn from the original source. They all are deserving of recognition and acknowledgement. I had no intention of speaking negatively of the user that graciously shared what they did nor minimize the countless other victims, just wanted to speak the names of those who were mentioned in a respectful way.
I’ve been iffy about this guy for a very long time, but I fully support what he’s doing here with his support of Palestine and with challenging Kraft.
For reference on my iffiness on this guy, he’s always seemed a bit too calculated with his public facing social consciousness (rapping about white privilege, really?). But he also performed “Thrift Shop” while wearing this costume:

He apologized and even the ADL accepted the apology yet you still bring that propaganda here. Shame on you
Yeah this keeps being brought up now almost like it’s a retaliation campaign, suspicious. He’s apologized about this 12 years ago
Macklemore issues apology following accusations of anti-semitism
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/may/20/macklemore-apology-accusations-anti-semitism
I don’t listen to his music, but I lived in Seattle at the time. I never knew about the apology, but I do remember quite a lot of people talking about the costume at work in the days that followed. AFAIK he’s not done anything else anti-semitic, and I’m not trying to tear him down. Was just explaining part of why I’ve felt iffy about him. He can be iffy in my eyes and still be on the right side of history here
What’s iffy about white people calling out other white people? Isn’t that what we want more of?
Also last time I checked, rapping was not an exclusive activity that only black people are allowed to participate in. In fact, in my admittedly anecdotal experience: black people are largely OK with whoever rapping, as long as they’re not trying to mock rap or black people in the process. Don’t do the art dirty and all are welcome, and all that
I don’t recognise him here
I assume it’s a Zionist disinformation campaign
Stop killing people Isreal
I do think corny is an appropriate word to describe him, but he has always seemed genuine and sweet as hell.
How much have you listened to? If your exposure is through radio or other mainstream stream playlists, then you’re probably hearing the same type of sample as you do Lady Gaga. The pop hits make money to fund the heartfelt art made with talent. There’s a few dozen songs past Thrift Shop, And We Danced, and Downtown. Shit, check out the video to Glorious
I became a fan around when Wings came out. Had Irish Celebration on my warmup playlist. Talked to him on a small Livestream he and Ryan did shortly before Heist released. Snuck into nearly the front row of a concert he did at a local uni. In like '13. Followed him pretty actively until he and Ryan parted ways. Never stopped liking him, but just fell to the wayside in my listening habits. Was Glorious the one where the video was him taking his grandma or someone out on the town for their birthday? That video was adorable.
It would be more awesome if he went to live in Palesrine and shared his views on LGBTQ+
Yeah so it turns out that people that are constantly being bombed back to the stone age don’t really have the bandwidth to develop progressive viewpoints. Queer Palestians die to Israeli bombs just the same as any other.
queer Palestinians die to Palestinian machetes more though.
That’s some bullshit.
Current estimates are at about 76,000 dead from Isreal’s genocide, a third of which are children. There is not 76,000 dead queer Palestinians who’ve died at the hands of other Palestinians in the last 3 years.
This is a braindead take that a 5 second Google search could solve.
today class we’re learning about population density and per capita.
Apparently not, because the population of Palestinians will always equal the population of Palestinians no matter what. You didn’t think through this.
I’m 100% positive that there are far less Palestinians right now then there were nine months ago.
Still went over your head.
The amount of Palestinians that exist right now is the number of Palestinians that exists right now. The amount of Palestinians 9 months ago is equal to the number of Palestinians 9 months ago. You’re failing to understand that the comparison here is death type not population capitas.
how dare you try to apply logic to a complex political issue!
whats the logic
There is no amount of homophobia on the part of any percentage of any population that could possibly justify genocide, this specific hasbara talking point is exceptionally spineless morally bankrupt bullshit
This is such a dumb fucking argument. I’ll never live in Palestine or most everywhere on planet earth. If some country decided to blow up entire cities in Indonesia I would be equally opposed.
Hi, I’m wondering how many people would agree with this statement:
“I am not antisemitic, I am anti-genocide, and these are two different things.”
Just trying to understand general sentiments.
general sentiment: Gazans are currently paying the price for 80+ years of making the wrong political decisions and supporting terrorism.
genocide claims are specious at best. Just like at the end of WW2, where a lot of German civilians had to die as a consequence of bad political decisions made back in the 1930’s. Even if they didn’t vote for Hitler, all had to pay the price collectively. In this world, sometimes, that’s just the way it goes. Time to pay the piper. Chickens come home to roost and all of that.
general sentiment: shout less slogans you heard on social media, and read a history book now and then.
.
Ah yes, the classic genocide denier mantra: “it didn’t happen, but they deserved it!”
What constitutes a genocide? What is your personal definition of a genocide, and what makes you consider the actions that Israel is undertaking in Gaza not satisfy that definition?
By the way, it’s very nice to speak to someone who has read the history books, because I have, like, a bunch of questions.
What poor political decision lead to the deir yassin massacre? Is there any particular political decision that caused settlers to burn entire cillages to the ground in the 40s? Who made that decision?
And what poor political decision on the part of the Palestinians lead to the ethnic cleansing of 400k arabs in 1967?
And what decision lead to the murder of 3000 palestinian refugees over the span of two nights in the refugee camps sabra and shatila?
What poor political decision lead to
Both sides walking away in 1947…
Although time has demonstrated that it was a bigger mistake for the Palestinians than it was for the Jews.

Ok, I didn’t expect much, but this is very little. When you said we should read the history books, which books did you mean? Did you read them? Have you read any Pappé? Have you read Morris’ early work?
And when you completely ignored my question about what your personal definition of genocide is, and how it leads you to deny the genocide in Gaza, was that because you don’t have or know one? I feel like this is the more important of the questions I asked. Just like with your intellectual siblings, holocaust deniers, I expect you to either put up or shut up.
It’s looks like as long as you voice out against what Israel is doing in Gaza, you are branded an antisemite… That term has since lost its meaning.
“Your boos mean nothing, I’ve seen what makes you cheer”
Yup, Israel is actively harming fighting antisemitism by diluting its meaning to “doesn’t support the government of Israel.”
I mean. Those are two different things. I don’t know how someone could disagree with it.
That’s my first thought but I know some people are very touchy on this topic. The challenge is to say something most people will agree with. It seems like some people pick a side between violence and non-violence, others pick a side between the people groups, some seem to make the two inseparable, and others make it separable.
Well, now you’re getting into people parroting talking points back so they don’t have to think about what you’re saying. I wish you luck with that battle. I’ve had it many times. Using things people feel strongly about might help; like the Afghanistan “conflict”. If someone is informed about the atrocities american’s commited and are against it, that can be likened to Israel’s treatment of Palestinians and might get them to think.
The issue is more the bad faith actors who will ignore what you say and just call you antisemetic anyway.
I’m an old man who had no idea who Macklemore was until this week. This guy is fucking cool.
Yes he is. I’m from Seattle so I have a little bit of a headstart on you. But his music is not only catchy but a love letter to the city and state that birthed him. Washington state is beautiful and he really captures that.
I find it funny that on all these Ed and Macklemore posts there’s exactly 1 downvote on all the comments.
Somebody’s salty. I can almost see their expression as they go through every comment downvoting with full on “I’ll show them all” Nerd Rage coursing through their body.
That one downvoter (I bet I know who it is but I don’t want to prejudice at that racist fuck):
You can look it up elsewhere, but then the downvoter wins.
I get one downvote on every single thing I comment on. someone loves me.
Gigachad.
Worth noting that Macklemore knows Kraft won’t match it. Makes it even more of a boss move.
I did not expect it, but he did match it.
https://www.tmz.com/2026/09/16/robert-kraft-doubles-macklemore-palestine-donation/
Lets not forget that Robert Kraft is in the Epstein files
Hold up, the post from Kraft only says:
Ed called me and asked me to commit $2 million to match his donation to aid in the region to fight this humanitarian crisis.
Doesn’t say he’ll do it, and doesn’t say it’ll go towards aid for Palestinians.
That doesn’t surprise me. It’s cheap repair for his image. But, it’s also disingenuous, which we all know.
Even if Kraft backed down and allowed the show, it wouldn’t work. He’s exposed himself, there’s no repairing that. Also, the artists wouldn’t return.
Kraft is known now. And, we know what he is.
Interesting, thanks for sharing. I guess I was wrong.
So… this only makes me more confused, though. He shuts down Macklemore because he doesn’t want Macklemore saying “Free Palestine” in his stadium, and then turns around and supports Palestinian causes?
Christ, I must be missing something here.
PR
yes its almost as if human beings exist on a gradient between black and white and should not be judged solely based on one single action.
Fuck Hollywood and gaming industry for cultivating false dichotomies instead of utilizing actual good writers.
Dude is also in the Epstein files, where on you’re gradient is that?
Also just because I’m feeling froggy
yes its almost as if Hollywood and gaming industry exist on a gradient between black and white and should not be judged solely based on one single action.
A lot of people are in the Epstein files. John Stewart did a whole segment on this.
The problem is your pea sized reactionary brain is looking for a target to unload its anger on and, for real … maybe try a mirror?
he was friends with Epstine to the point he hired a lawyer to get out of sex crime charges on Epstine’s advice to him.
i mean thats what lawyers do, they help you escape charges.
you would literally do the same if you got charged.
where anger?
sigh
I’m feeling froggy
yes its almost as if Hollywood and gaming industry exist on a gradient between black and white and should not be judged solely based on one single action.
He had the same lawyer as Epstein after Epstein suggested him to Kraft, my guy. Maybe do a modicum of research before diving into a dismissive tirade
yes, guilt by association is not evidence of a crime.
fuck your mob mentality and fuck you because you would want the same defense I am giving Mr Kraft.
No, fuck Robert Kraft and his Gillette Stadium bot farm astroturfing Islamophobia under the guise of “fighting antisemitism”
The reason is he knows that aid probably won’t make a lick of difference. It’s like sending bread to the German Jews during the holocaust - that doesn’t do shit to stop the people killing them.
your simple mind can only condense human actions into false dichotomies.
I pity you. truly
Yet nothing he said is untrue
ah yes the simpletons coalesce. shit sticks to itself. the universe unfolds…
nice double negative, lackwit.
You’ve lost me. I’m just trying to understand Robert Kraft’s actual motivations.
as Im sure he is as well…
His PR team specifically chose the words “support the region” and ended the sentence with “I have supported efforts that create opportunity for Palestinians and have brought young Palestinians and Israelis together to build businesses, create jobs”
For example, financing bulldozing a Palestinian village, building an illegal settlement of terrorists, then hiring some Palestinians for pennies to clean the gardens, can technically match the statement
The Israeli Gaza “humanitarian” foundation let thousands of people die of starvation, also. Any donation to the ghf technically counted as Palestine aid, but it’s like if during WW2 there was a fundraising for food in Auschwitz
Youre missing the fact that 1 million isnt even .01% of his wealth he gave away pennies
I did not miss that, no.
Boils down to Robert Kraft did not expect the PR shit show that started because he kicked Macklemore out. This blew up super fucking fast and well outside of the control of what they expected. Ed Sheeran is scrambling too.
This looks really bad. Even Jesse Walters from Fox News is like, “he kicked him out for saying free Palestine?” He then went on to defend Robert Kraft, claiming he can kick him out for whatever reason, but even he seemed incredulous about the reason that Macklemore was kicked out.
Robert Kraft does not want this to continue to blow up because if every fucking artist besides a few of them suddenly start refusing to go to his stadium, that’s gonna look bad. This gives him an out, saying, well, I donated two million dollars after the fact So it doesn’t look like he’s directly supporting genocide.
It’s obvious to those of us who pay attention, but to anybody who’s not familiar with Robert Kraft, this potentially creates an out. It all about the pr message.
It would seem that your analysis is the correct one.
Yeah, it basically boils down to PR and Robert Kraft trying to control the message. I’m not sure why he’s trying to control the message. He’s not giving a shit about it before, given how open he is about supporting Israel and how much money he’s donated to Israel before But this clearly rattled him.
I speculated about the artist boycott, but I mean, it could also boil down to people just boycotting him for not allowing free speech, which is a lightning rod issue in the United States.
Or maybe it just spiraled so fast out of control that it just spooked him. Ultimately, $2 million dollars for him is a chump change. Hard to know at this point, unfortunately.
I’m not sure why he’s trying to control the message. He’s not giving a shit about it before, given how open he is about supporting Israel and how much money he’s donated to Israel before But this clearly rattled him.
But now bad things are happening to him so they matter.
$2 million for a gesture probably doesn’t matter much to him.
Especially when his actions point to him being a Zionist, the question becomes how much money has Kraft spent furthering Zionist ideals in comparison? Does it make $2 million USD look like a joke?
One of the last lines of the article
Kraft later confirmed he didn’t want Macklemore performing at Gillette, which Kraft owns … accusing the rapper of crossing the line with antisemitic rhetoric and imagery.
I find it hard to believe that Maklemore uses antisemitic rhetoric and imagery (I’m willing to change this opinion with evidence). I would believe he uses Anti-Israeli rhetoric and imagery.
Kraft it’s deeply pro Isreal and supports organizations directly that have stated they define antisemitism as any criticism of Isreal. you don’t like the yearly budget Isreal passes on Library maintenance? antisemitism. You think Isreal needs to secure better water use rights for a particular Israeli city? antisemitism. better not.
Good! This leaves MORE Room for Noted Jew Lover Kanye West to play “Heil Hitler” at Kraft’s stadiums AGAIN!
I just found this today. Still not sure what to make of the costume, but Macklemore claims he didn’t intend for it to look like a Jewish caricature
Macklemore is not the best messenger on this, but who is without sin?
I definitely wore a Halloween costume In high school I regret. I was a Sultan; thank God I didn’t try to bronze my skin…
That’s exactly what he looks like. I could see this being viewed as antisemitic. I do still wonder what the retoric was
It’s almost definitely antisemitic, but I suspect rather than being actual hatred, it was probably just an antisemitic joke in poor taste, and more importantly, he apologized for it in… 2014.
From what I read, he was supposedly trying to dress up in a costume inspired by Humpty Hump (of Humpty Dance fame) and wasn’t aware enough at the time to realize how fucked up it came across.
2014! I thought that was from the current tour. People born that year will be teenagers next year. Robert Kraft associates with people who would fuck those teenagers.
It’s just PR bro. Trying to save face after the fact.
That 1 million (from each) will be tax deductible and not cost either of them anything (as long as they both earn at least a million this year, which they will).
It’s also only a limited number of charities that are official enough to take such a sum, meaning the money will get shunted through approved US channels (so that it stays out of the hands of “Hamas” or whatever the US and Israel see as Hamas today).
Let’s not forget that these are pledges, not yet donations.
I won’t hold my breath that Kraft actually follows through with that.
Also, Kraft said that he was spendbthat $2 mn in the region, which doesn’t necessarily mean Palestine. He might send the IOF that money for all we know at the end of the day when all is said and done
He doubled it and apparently said he was matching Ed Sheeran’s donation, not Mackelmore’s.
Kraft donated to “support the region”. Doesn’t say anything specifically about Palestine. Dude probably wrote a $2 million check to Netenyahu.
Settlements in Palestine need investments, the way he describes his donations reeks of dishonesty. “supported efforts to create opportunity for Palestinians” Opportunities aren’t food or shelter or aid.
He’s a rich pedophile and not a complete idiot. He’s listening to his PR firm.
“brought young Palestinians and Israelis together to build businesses, create jobs, and forge relationships” sounds like some Supply-side Jesus bullshit way of saying “I made a fuckton of money in Israel and even deigned to hire some Palestinians to do it”
In the article, they quote Kraft saying he has been a long time financial supporter of the Palestinian people.
So we’re gonna see if his money lands where his mouth is. I have my doubts but I’m open to a happy surprise.
I’ll admit I didn’t read the article, lol. But - hang on, if he’s a long-standing financial supporter of the Palestinian people, I’m genuinely confused as to why he’s so upset at Macklemore’s remarks.
Are we sure he isn’t just saying whatever platitudes get him more money and support?
no… he has said he has tried to build bridges in terms of employment between Palestinian youth and Israeli youth. which is a much more specific statement. he’s also only said he’s been asked to be give money ‘in the region’ which he hasn’t actually said he’ll do it or not, and only ‘in the region’ which could be qualified by giving Bibi a $2mil donation.
He’s a long time funder of Our Generation Speaks which is an “ex” Israeli intelligence officer who pays token Palestinians to be pro-Israel, that’s the only Palestinian thing his foundation funds.
He already said he would match it but $1,000,000 is nothing to Robert Kraft. It’s basically a tax write off for some PR.
