Numbers are dictating everything now. The modern lived experience is no longer made of choice, but curated systems meant for control and wealth extraction.

Shit was true back with Elvis too tho…

Like, the author acts like people judging music based on sales is a new thing, which just means they have no idea what they’re talking about.

It definitely shouldn’t be the metric now, but mostly because people don’t buy albums like they used to. But that’s not what the author is complaining about. Their main issue seems to be not understanding the same numbers for one of the most popular rappers of all time. And two that are more talented but less popular could be both a failure and success for both.

If they think theyre breaking the news that sales don’t equal quality…

Cool, everyone’s known that for longer than me or the author have been alive.

Then you’re talking about a completely different thing than the article, but didn’t mention that…

Probably because you didn’t click the article and made a bad assumption

No I read it I was just under the impression people could infer meaning without having it directly explained.

Assuming everyone knows what you mean is a sign of low empathy.

No one knows you decide to talk about something different, and you had zero context to show what you were talking about.

I’d love to hope you’d work on that, but that’s not what’s gonna happen, so I’m gonna lock and be done with you.
