What if I told you live streaming the execution wasn’t about the money? The regime will claw money wherever they want.
It’s about power, humiliation, dehumanization, and desensitization.
It’s also a test. Can we get away with publicly executing people? They seem to have done it so far, cops and ICE have done it for a while.

I am astounded that especially Americans seem to be the ones who do not know about this. Even the public broadcaster here put it as a headline on both it’s homepage and it’s news segments, right next to the US showing they have no qualms with people who commit atrocities and instead attacking the people who fight against the people who committed these atrocities. Our newspapers (even the crappy free ones) also all reported on this.

To be fair, plenty of live assassinations in the US by ICE have already been streamed. This will seem timid by comparison. Having said that, don’t worry, won’t watch, but I don’t think it’s about the amount of people watching either.
