Taking away cheap Chinese goods might be one of the few things that will wake a few Americans up?

I’d happily buy US made goods if they were comparable in quality and cost. I know the next response is “they cost more because the people making them are paid more” but I’m not paid enough to afford them.

Hard to match cost when labor rights such as minimum wage exist, maybe Trump and Elon will get rid of those too though.

There’s a number of products I get off Aliexpress that simply aren’t available in the US. Namely braided fishing lines meant for the Japanese market. They come in high vis colors and are thinner and stronger than products available Stateside. Berkeley has a somewhat similar product, but the color fades or isn’t available in similar colors, it’s thicker and less strong. It’s not just a cost issue.

I’m just replying to the “quality and cost” part of your post, which are inherently paired. Yes some products just don’t exist being made in the US, but if the store has a product that costs twice as much made domestically sitting next to a foreign product of the same or close enough quality, the price alone will dictate which they choose. This is often why domestically made versions of products aren’t available without a special order (which is even more expensive) and where tariffs are supposed to be used.

Americans aren’t going to wake up. They are gonna keep bowing down and eating shit.

It’s really impressive how passive Americans have become.

Where are they going to put them all? There aren’t enough warehouses in all of LA. Return to sender… toss in the ocean?

We can only hope. I’m open for anything at this point. $6/dozen eggs didn’t do it, even thought most voted for Trump to do a grocery, which he hasn’t done yet…

With zero explanation. You’ve got to love the transparency and accountability of this government.

It should be just USPS as that is federally controlled, while all the others are not. This move goes towards weakening and sabotaging the USPS, because guess what it delivers that every other carrier does not, ballots.

Every package I’ve gotten via DHL was fulfilled by USPS, though. Do they even have the infrastructure to handle their own deliveries?

USPS does the last mile, so I guess if you use an alternative carrier it wouldn’t be stopped at the border and fulfilled as usual, unless USPS actively looks at the from address and blocks it and the handover as well.

I just ordered a replacement board for a 3d printer that someone donated to my school on Monday. It was accepted by USPS earlier today. Fucking Perfect…

I just had to double check where a replacement computer fan was coming from.
Turns out Japan, so I got lucky.

If they’re clever, they’ll just ship items to a waystation in Mexico where they’ll be relabeled.

Those aren’t delivered to Apple by USPS. Same with Amazon, Walmart etc getting Chinese stuff by container ship to sell you at huge markups. What’s stopped is you being able to get the same stuff online directly. You can’t be allowed to bypass Trump-donor intermediaries like that!

Nah, the US exports will be untouched in this regard… Now, if any other country will still want our fenty, who knows? At this point, fenty from the US would be like getting your fenty from a corner dealer anyways.
