The real question: Is that Pilot G7 a 0.10 or a 0.07? Very different pens. 0.7 ftw

I like 1 because it’s thin and not a roller type. You only have to imagine writing and you’re doing it. Rollers can be ok, and 5 is a decent example, but 1 used with a ruler for precise drawing, nothing beats that.

For me one looks like it would be very nice, but it’s just too loose when it comes to writing and the ink smudge is really easily from what I remember. My dad had them all around the house because they look very business like but I don’t really remember enjoying writing with them.

I enjoy the light loose feeling of writing with pens like 1. The pressure needed for a roller means that you really need to mean it, which I feel hinders my “creativity” in writing… I just like to write some fucked up tall cursive, ok?

I guess it’s just a matter of personality. I mean there are some good rollers out there. I know, I’ve got some. In uni, almost 20 years ago, we had to take hand written exams, and the school still needed three copies plus your own, so we had to punch through three sheets to get a carbon copy on the last sheet. After my first exam where trying to crank out 10 pages per hour gave me cramps, I went out and got some really nice rollers. The grip had a diameter like my index finger. Still 4 hours and 40 semi-neatly written pages of A4 would cause a considerable strain.

I would’ve agreed with you 13 years ago, but something changed with the pilot G2s. They went from S tier to B at best. Ironically, I’ve replaced them with 2 now. The Pilot Precision’s have been my favorite for quite awhile now personally

I have an entire note taking program calibrated around the ink colors of 5. I kinda dug myself that grave though. They are at least decent pens.

Also you can mod them into pen guns. Shooting works better if you replace the ink though.

3 or 5 was always my goto. That being said, I didn’t have to write anything by hand in the last 15 years, and I’m pretty much forgot how it’s done

Preference aside, I’ve found that most others use the 0.5mm and that that means my pens usually find their way back to me when borrowed. I generally like the way the increased flow feels and don’t experience a difference in control vs the finer tip. That said, the 1.0mm is crazy and feels like I am trying to paint, so I definitely get how others that prefer the finer tip might feel about my preference.
