Pilot G2 and BIC are both classics, but I’m a sucker for a liquid ink pen

None of these are fountain pens, the obviously superior choice over ball-points.

Platinum Preppy. Cheap and cheerful with the capability of taking a converter, different nips, and being converted into a refillable marker. Amazingly versatile pen.

    1. It’s basically the only kind of pen I use anyway.

    Uniball Signo 207

Writes easy and the ink is bold and dries fast. Comfortable enough for having to write 7 pages of client notes every night, even with my arthritic hands.

This is the true answer. The 207/207+ ink is the greatest. The sharpie pens are close though, especially with the weight of the metal barrel.

When I was a server, I only used Number 3, but it has to be the 0.5 size. 0.7 still smears too much.

    1. I very specifically use these. They’re pretty similar to the Pilot pens though.

I once bought a pack of maybe 40 number 7 in all 4 colors, I am basically committed for life.

But these fuckers dry out if you don’t use them for a long time, I had to throw away a bunch. I tried receiving some by soaking them in Isopropyl alcohol, it worked for some but not all.

1 & 2 top picks, then 6 & 7. The rubber sleeves are nice for short notes and whatnot. They get slippery from sweating eventually. Maybe just a me thing.
