Since these products are now considered vintage, Apple no longer guarantees that parts for repairs will be readily available.

Since when does Apple supply repair parts?

What distro are you using? Every one I’ve tried in my 2017 Macbook I’ve run into driver issues.

Right, macbooks and imacs have far more trouble with drivers than the minis do. That’s what I was saying. His distro might not be helpful, as he was using a mini and not a macbook or imac.

Vintage: “Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 5

Feels like just yesterday I bought this thing. That said I’m tired of this POS being so slow, I just can’t justify buying a Mac Studio Yet.

Why? Nothing else comes close in terms of overall experience.

It’s efficient, quiet, fast, and I prefer Mac OS over Windows and Linux for my use case.

Honestly the new base mini is a good buy. Until fairly recently in the Mac timeline, the minis had slow hard drives holding them back.

F-em. Late 2014 Mac mini plex server (also running all the 'arts) still going strong. I’m not buying a new one until it shorts out and dies.

I have a Black Mac Mini as my primary desktop device. It has always been flakey.

When I tried to trade it in on an M1 MacMini, they didn’t even offer me a Gift Card!?

I’m currently in the process of migrating everything to Linux, where possible.
