I’m curious what the final draft will look like.

I’m on the fence about this. UK is a good ally and partner to the EU (even with Brexit), but I’m scared about the UK Reform Party (the far right) winning the next election.

By the time the next UK election rolls around, France and Germany may have flipped too. Judging by TLD—sorry if inappropriate—doesn’t your government already include PVV…?

The one positive about right-wing governments though is that they are extremely unlikely to create a lasting alliance, as they will feel the urge to engage in territorial behavior. Especially if they’re close to each other.

I’m not sure how stable the government is in the UK but in Germany we can expect it to last a normal term if there are no drastic changes in the political landscape that drive a sharp wedge between the parties.

PVV has been kept out of the government for over a decade because of their ideology, ultimately becoming the biggest party and indeed they are now part of the government. Turns out, they can’t get anything done because they don’t really have anyone in their ranks who is actually capable of doing the actual work. Let’s hope the same will be true for Reform, AfD and FN.

True, but as is visible in USA, you don’t need to be able to do your job to be able to destroy your country.

No true, luckily we have much stronger forces controlling the government. Also because they don’t have a majority.

I have the slimmest of hopes that Nigel Farage’s choice to attach himself to Trump will do Reform lasting damage. Fortunately we’ve got a good while before the next election
