Hundreds of people took to the streets of Morelia, the capital of the western state of Michoacán, to condemn the murder of Carlos Manzo, the mayor of Uruapan, on November 1st.
According to local media, the protesters, dressed in black and white, demanded not only justice but also an end to the violence in the state. Some carried signs calling for the resolution of Manzo’s murder, who was shot to death during a Day of the Dead commemoration.
Following the peaceful protest, an unidentified group entered the Michoacán State Government Palace, leaving its main door partially damaged.

Oh yeah, you are right about the coyotes. If I could summarize the talking points from the protest that I had closeby, it will be like this:
The main demand is to push for $7,200 per ton of corn. There could be better strategies out there to rally the people but so far this one has brought plenty of people to form a mass movement. But yeah… We are in dire need for organizations and the correct agitation.
