    Here’s the funny part: the US had almost sole control over the military stuff up there, they had army bases there, for joint defense projects.

    Now, many other countries are setting bases there. So they’ve gotta share the space and the soft power that came with having that space virtually to themselves.

      Thats not the funny part, it’s the stupid part.

      The US already had a base there, as you said, and there was already an existing agreement that they could expand it if the need arose.

      But nooooo, Trump had to ignore all that and just demand to take the entire damn country away from its citizens so he could have some shiny prize to brag about.
