Does still be healthy include feeling rested?

If so, this has to be the craziest opinion I’ve ever heard. You’re trading 8 hours of time for the feeling of curling up in a bed, and for the feeling of waking up in the morning?

You can get that with a 15m nap, and I’d do that like once or twice a week. Life I way too short and there’s so much other shit I would do with an extra 8 hours in the day.

there is no way I would. 8 extra hours of consciousness is basically extending your life by 1/3 since you’ll get so much more activities done.

I’d probably just game even more tbqh.

I’ve thought about this myself and come to the conclusion that if we didn’t NEED to sleep, for any reason, then we’d probably have longer work hours as adults and longer school hours as children. But I’m with you, I hate the fact that I need to sleep. Seems like such a waste of time.

Ah, but the corollary would be a 16 hr workday, because capitalism.

It’s complicated because I want to sleep because of mechanisms that exist because I need sleep. If I wasn’t sleepy, I wouldn’t want to sleep. I am sleepy, because I need sleep.

I like having a break from the thinking and the doing, both of which are starting to feel like too much.
