Lots of people with English as their second language have a better vocabulary than Trump. As someone that had to learn English, I always thought his was at the level of a child and I can’t understand how so many native speakers don’t seem to realize that.

Trying to explain this to my non english speaking friends is so hard. They only ever see what he says after it’s been translated and then it looks fine since you cant translate trumps word salad out of english without first translating it into something human readable.

Indeed. There’s a lot of unintentional sanewashing being done by translators on international news. I’m the only one of my family that can speak English and it’s astonishing to see/hear how the news make him sound less stupid in French than in English. My brother-in-law doesn’t speak a lick of English and is a Trump supporter. All his information comes from translations, and yet, he insists on saying that Trump was misunderstood and that the news are deliberately making him look bad.

Also, you rarely get transcripts of his speeches logorrhea in non-english countries. Read just a few paragraphs and it becomes very apparent how dumb and confused he is.

Sadly, a lot of the US have a similar vocabulary and low IQ so they see him as being like them. A lot more like him for saying the horrible racist and misogynistic stuff out loud.

Most people with English as their second language gas better vocabulary, spelling and grammar than most Americans. This is VERY obvious here on the Internet, most really common errors are made by Americans.

Vere. Ĝi devu esti Esperanton, sed Anglo parolantoj povus ne lerni. Kiel Eddie Izzard diris: Pli ol unu lingvoj in unu kapo?! Malpossibla!
