With 233 school shootings in 2025, actually down from a peak of 352 in 2023, and all the shootings before going back decades, there are plenty of people to ask without even needing to get into the numbers of armed robberies where people do get shot.

Knowing how much suffering she caused in so many people’s lives, the huge sum she cost investors (which of course includes people’s retirement funds all over the US), the public harm of wasting so many people’s time, diverting hundreds of millions of dollars that could have gone to actual life saving research, and the thousands of people she stone cold lied to in order to orchestrate this epic fraud are you still sure?

In the past week, two survivors of the school shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida (which occurred on February 14, 2018) have died. The first was a 19-year-old woman who had since graduated but was a “survivor of the 2018 massacre at the school [who] took her own life” (‘Apparent suicide’ of Parkland student days after massacre survivor…, 2019, March 25). This past Saturday, another currently enrolled student has died in “an apparent suicide” (ibid), at least until the medical examiner’s office rules differently. He was a sophomore in the school at the time of the 2018 massacre.

I drew a comparison between an actual criminal who caused real deaths and hundreds of millions of dollars in damages with a fictional scenario of a person non-violently robbing a store saying they had a gun and getting a twenty year sentence for getting away with $200.
