Post Primaries, I’m all for this.

There is no race whose ballot contains a Democrat and Republican where a Republican is equal or better than the Democrat.

We should all thoroughly be on the Fuck Republicans / Vote Democrat train for these upcoming midterms.

    Double-check your voter registration status.

Before being sworn in Republicans accused Biden that he will politicize DOJ and go after events.

He did everything to prevent that appearance even by choosing a conservative judge for that position.

Yeah it was a bad idea, as Republicans continued that narrative.

Though with this blaming I rarely see mentioned SCOTUS, which actually was the biggest reason why it didn’t go anywhere. They kept throwing him lifeline after lifeline, when at one point there was nothing that could save him, they invented absolute immunity, which actually goes against the Constitution. To me it is obvious that even if Garland brought charges against trump on day one we would still see the same effect thanks to SCOTUS.

How? Trump was charged with two major crimes under Biden’s DOJ.

Also unless you’re a fascist like Trump you don’t sick your appointment to the US Attorney General position and DOJ on anyone, let alone a political opponent. Garland and the Smith indeed did investigate and ultimately charge Trump – but independently of some sort of Biden directive.

They couldn’t bring it to trial because Trump had already previously stacked the courts, who blocked Smith at every turn.

        Edit: typo.

It’s not; it just has to fall within the purview of the rule of law and also not jeopardize the trial by tainting the jury or getting the case thrown out.

It’s still all moot because they in fact did charge Trump; the judges were just already stacked.

What the fuck is this post? Is the DNC paying you?

And a lot of us hated Trump in the 90s.

Yeah they did such a great job with the neoliberal austerity, surveillance state, and illegal wars of aggression. Crazy that Trump got elected anyway!

They made actual meaningful improvements in peoples lives and people threw it all away to gamble on a racist conman.

You know Trump is fucking awful when this fascist-adjacent simpleton Dubya is seen as the good guy.

Trump only exists as a president because of Dubya.
Fuck Dubya with a stiff wire brush…

Those are literally the people who brought us trump.

Bush’s open illegality and rampant theft begun the institutional decline that his friends in the trump regime sped up. Obama needed to punish the wrongdoing but deliberately chose not to with his “looking forward not backward” policy, cowardly shying away from our last chance to avoid descending into authoritarianism. Clinton’s glaring weaknesses as candidate, her husband’s involvement with the trump-epstein ring and the corrupt insistance of the DNC to run a business-as-usual servant of the rich against a much more shameless servant of the rich neutralized many of the angles of attack that could’ve put 2016 out of trump’s reach. Biden had already seen the first act of authoritarianism in the US, and just sat there, refusing to do anything to prevent it happening again.

These are the people who had the most power to prevent authoritarianism and the closer it got, the less they did about it.
