  • It’s really strange to me that an anarchist would spend any amount of energy trying to convince anyone not to vote. If the argument is that the tiny amount of time/energy spent voting a few times per year is somehow detrimental to one’s ability to engage in direct action, then couldn’t we also say that your time/energy would be better spent on direct action than spreading anti-voting memes and arguing with people about voting? It also feels borderline suspicious that these anti-voting memes are always being pushed right before a major election in the United States.

I joined this instance because I wanted a horizontally organized, anarchist-friendly place to hang out, but this is just really turning me off from this place.

  • Just quickly skimming the article you linked, I’m not seeing evidence that wikipedia is “shit”, just that there have been many attempts by governments and other powerful people to influence its content, which shouldn’t be surprising to anyone given how popular it is. Are there examples you could point to of those attempts being successful? (Including particular examples you want to highlight in that article; again I only skimmed it on a small screen.)

It also seems strange to link to a wikipedia article to support the claim that wikipedia is shit.
