But not every user has the power to be heard there. Tw’s algorithms and shadowbans have long been working against democracy and freedom!

People often choose the Fediverse because they understand that democracy needs independence and the open fight against fascism. Please understand that too!

But since the owner’s open help for fascism (including shadowbanning of activists) and now all his campaign aid and open admiration for Trump, we should learn from German history! If these people come to power in Nov, there will be chaos and the destruction of freedom and democracy worldwide (European right-wing extremists are just waiting for it).

I’m sure there would also be more followers if the media websites finally added a button for Mastodon under ‘Follow Us’! People want to find them. I follow so many third-hand media bots or #media via @flipboard@flipboardsocial because some don’t even have their own RSS-feed account (like DW). For #democracy, it’s important to have an independent place.

@[email protected] Until now, I even didn’t know that they were here. This could be a hint for so many: They don’t link to their Mastodon accounts, they don’t make enough promotion where to find them. How would users follow them?

@[email protected] I just tested it with @newyorktimes … it’s indeed this “federation too fresh” problem of the Fediverse. First I saw only 1 post. Then I followed them, a second post came in. Now, after some minutes, I see their stream. Great.

It works like this: Up from following, you see everything they post after that time. But you don’t see the posts before you followed.
Unfortunately, this happens often in the Fediverse, also with new instances. It takes some days.

I’m on one of the biggest main instances. But via the search I find a well-filled RollingStones account (unclear whether RSS or the medium itself): @[email protected]
I wait for the day when media open their own instances. But Flipboard is already a good way to make them appetite. I’ll try more …

@[email protected] I missed many so much and think this is a good way for media to close at the crap platforms.
Just one problem: I see lots of followers but empty accounts, no posts (only the NYT has one post). Why are they empty? Is the federation too fresh?
