That’s actually better than I thought though. I am also tempted into a 16:10 aspect ratio, but that’s only on the third gen which is unfortunate. Thanks for the link.

I found a good T14 gen 1 with Ryzen CPU and 400 nits low-power display, but I read that the 4650U CPUs don’t support amd-pstate and only auto-cpufreq, meaning that it will affect negatively the battery life. The T14 gen 2 are unfortunately with the 300 nits display, which is quite mediocre. How much worse the battery would be on the gen1?
True that, and I generally prefer bigger screens. As I said what I don’t like is the price.
Keep in mind that a lot of things will become a lot more expensive for you in the next few months. It really depends on your financial situation and job security but I would say unless you have a big surplus and have built a comfortable emergency fund, do not spend extra on not essential stuff.
Yes, exactly, what attracts me to Framework and ThinkPad is the repairability
I tend to lose adapters to be honest. And right now I am trying to get everything possible to support USB-C as it is super convenient and the chargers are also really small.
Yes, that’s why I want to have a USB-C charging. I have a 60W GAN charger.
In the night I do look every now and then, plus if I need some special symbol, it is much better if you have it on the keyboard instead of googling
For personal use, I will use it just when traveling, as I have a more powerful desktop. Nothing too fancy, a bit of programming, tinkering. Will run probably Hyprland. What’s important is to have 5-6 hours of battery life. I will probably run some containers, YouTube watching, browsing, should be portable and support charging over USB-C.
Just keep doing what you were doing and hope that Trump changes his mind in a week or two.
Lesotho - 50%, Saint Pierre & Miquelon - 50%.
But seriously, American consumers should say bye bye to cheap clothes, etc. as everything there is about to get a lot more expensive. The reality is that America was prospering in parts to all those third world countries. And it is kind of stupid to think that you can replace their products with local manufacturing as you lack both the skill set on the local work force nor the salary levels.
They also kicked all their immigrants who were working those shitty low paid jobs and I am sure as hell those employers are now struggling big time to find other people willing to do the same for the same pay.
Bonus tip, you can install extensions on Firefox mobile and block those pesky ads too
You simply don’t get it, there are shit loads of people who are struggling with their mental health and for various reasons they cannot find and/or afford a therapist. So yes, better to have an AI therapist than no therapist.
The bigger problem here is the loss of jobs and we are talking about a huge loss of employment that will affect economies really hard. The future looks more and more bleak.
And what makes you think, things will improve in a generation or two? I think the NVIDIA master plan is eventually for everyone to use GeForce now, AMD will probably offer some kind of alternative to that with physical cards, but most likely they will continue being overpriced.
They don’t want to pollute their training data.
I bought it a couple of months ago and oh boy this game is amazing. The story is really well written. I am not much of a first person shooter guy but this game is definitely worth it. The story is great, the atmosphere is amazing, it is a really well made game and especially now with the overall international state of affairs and the rise of AI, its depressively dystopian story feels even more relatable and even the fighting is fun and versatile.
Global warming makes coffee harder to cultivate, that restricts the supply, hence the price hikes. I guess coffee is going to be a luxury item in the future.
While the world is focused on its own problems, far right populism, and what not, we are oversleeping a great opportunity to rein in global warming. With douchebags like Trump at the helm, the crisis is getting worse and worse. I guess the kids of our kids will read about this time in their history books and wonder how stupid and egocentric we were back then.
Cheese of America?
That’s golden.
