The answer is not letting any company grow into a monopoly. There are actual laws against that. Break up existing monopolies. Then make business owners way more accountable than they are today. I know it is hard to prove intent in fraud cases, but any sort of creative accounting, transfer of debt between companies, bonuses that aren’t in alignment with company performance, stock buybacks and other manipulations of valuation, and a myriad other obvious fraudulent behaviors should be punished with long prison time.

Productivity is a collective achievement. AI in its current form increases individual output (not necessarily good output) without any way to support consensus, alignment, understanding, etc. Without AI supported collaboration, AI supported individual productivity makes everything go very fast in every direction. Like an explosion.

Sustainability, decent QOL, high population. Pick two. I pick the first two. Studies usually pick the first and the last. Arguable what “decent” is, but definitely more than “you’re not starving to death and you have some kind of roof above your head”. Or they pick the last 2, and pretend that we can science our way into prosperity. Current agricultural methods are not long term sustainable, regardless if profit motivated or not. Before fertilizers, yields were much lower. But sustainable. But fertilizers and industrial agriculture screw up the soil long term. Also fertilizers need to be produced, often from non-renewing sources. Etc.

This planet cannot sustain 8billion+ people. Poverty and war cannot be fixed by moving everybody into Western countries. Unfortunately, fewer people are needed. Sounds like you read some Libertarian treatise about how scarcity of gold lends value to the money itself. Same thinking brought you bitcoin, look at how that’s going. Money doesn’t have to have intrinsic value, it just has to act as a good store of value. In terms of purchasing power. Which means that if I save the amount of money that buys me X% of the global economic output this year (X being a very small but non-zero number), I should be able to buy X% of economic output in 40 years when I retire. That is, a good monetary system follows the ebb and flow of economic output, instead of being artificially limited by scarcity, or artificially inflated by central banks.

Illegal migration has been the wedge used by fascist Russia to split Western unity. Quite successfully. Outdated migration policies helped conflate good migration with bad, and the unwillingness to distinguish the two let the issue fester and drive the whole world toward fascism. Russia knew what they are doing, and they are winning.
