This could be done with custom CSS.
I don’t advise it though - for readability there is an optimal line length. PieFed is already too wide and Lemmy is way way too wide. Even worse, in Lemmy’s darkly-compact theme there is no maximum width and it expands to fill the whole screen, creating extremely long lines.

Well, kinda. To be more specific, he’s mostly betting that Palantir is overvalued, which it probably is. Peter Thiel is a nut case.

I think they were planning to sell anyway and the chalking happened during the selling process so they thought they could drum up some outrage from it.

I’m still running v2023.1 because that’s the last version before they stuffed so much AI into it that my CPU screams constantly while running it. The writing is on the wall with those guys.

Nearly 15 years ago from on top of a hill I looked out over a minor city in southern China and noticed how every single roof had solar hot water or solar panels. And that was just the beginning.

Yep, sorry, we have https://piefed.social/f/3dprinting and that clashes with it for deeply technical reasons.
There is a solution but it is not straightforward and involves changes to the way PieFed federates. It’s high on the agenda, though.

Check the language. Your profile needs to be set to display posts in the same language as the post is set as.

This feature would consume a lot of storage. Some way to use storage provided by the user could solve that but would be a lot of work to create and fragile to maintain.

There’s a mental image I could do without.

It was pretty bizarre how it was published in such a way that it seemed to come from w3c socialcg when really it was just Emelia.
Despite being an activitypub dev I have not seen any of the supposed “heated discussions” probably because I don’t spend time on Mastodon trying to boost ATProto. It doesn’t seem like a widespread problem to me.

“national conservatism”, aye. So close…
It’s mostly based on when the first PieFed user joins. But when they join PieFed attempts to mirror the last 50 posts in that community and if it’s a quiet community some of those posts will be very old.
Pulling in those 50 posts works most of the time but sometimes, for unknown reasons, it fails and only some posts get mirrored.

Veerry interesting, yes…

Consider using Zram to compress half your ram. That will make your 2 GB into 3 GB, kinda. Do not compress all of it, performance will suffer greatly.
Also, web browser choice is going to be crucial when it comes time to actually use the computer for anything. Try Konqueror, Falkon, Palemoon etc.

Set and get operations, the most commonly used ones, are 9% faster.

It’s still a looong way to the election and way too early for polls to be meaningful.

Yes, I agree. Will sort it out.
It’ll be back to normal soon :)
