Just a week before the midterm elections, which are already shaping up to be a bloodbath for the GOP, Democrats have dropped a bombshell. “A growing body of evidence demonstrates that Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s,” states a just-released report from the Democrats of the House Judiciary Committee.
Additionally, they claim that Trump has leveraged his FBI and DOJ to cover up the evidence, and have now called for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate any potential wrongdoing.

Maybe this is yet another testimony that closely resembles a prior case, but I think that this has been public knowledge for many years. I won’t read any more testimony, I’ve read enough and it makes me sick, so I could be wrong.
We know why Trump doesn’t want the Epstein files released, we have known for at least 20 years, yeah? He’s a rapist.
What we don’t know is why Democrats don’t want the Epstein files released. We do know many Ds were in Epstein’s circle through released flight logs and public information, a President, a senator, and high-profile (the very highest) Democratic donors. Island party guest lists? Still top secret. Complete flight logs? Top secret. Hundreds of hours of testimony from victims? Top secret.
Why did Biden’s DoJ insist that they can’t release the files and that the investigation was still open years after Epstein’s death, with nothing to show for it? Where’s the results of that investigation? It’s certainly not this 50-page report about long-known charges.
There are many Ds and Rs with top secret clearance, all of whom know the truth. They are all sitting on it, while victims and perps and witnesses “commit suicide”.

On the other, Slate has for a long time been extremely wordy/academic-style essays regurgitating obvious positions and news. I am usually in agreement with their positions, but it’s 300 words of argument and conclusion, packaged in 5,000 or 10,000 words of academic, disorganized writing style.
