President Trump fell asleep at the 9/11 memorial ceremony.
The president dozed off at multiple points during the event Friday, slumped over in his chair with his eyes closed and his head hanging down while everyone else onstage—Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Melania Trump, and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice—was clearly awake.
“you guys”, as if even the whole of Lemmy (most of which probably aren’t even living in the US) would have been enough to make a different DNC candidate happen. I haven’t even seen anyone who says that they actually like Harris.
As if “liking” a candidate is a requirement for voting for them.
I was neutral on Harris, supported her party, and loved her running mate. And most importantly, loathed and recognized the danger in the alternative.
Of course, it’s just when you don’t see anyone liking Harris, it’s stupid to blame these people for the DNC picking an unpopular candidate. Unless a majority of US Lemmy users says they don’t vote in primaries or something.
I liked Harris. When I was working retail and she’d just won a local office, she came in to buy some holiday gifts. She wasn’t in politician mode, just genuinely interested, unselfish and polite. You can tell a lot about a person from how they treat retail and restaurant workers. She went on to become highly qualified, another reason she was the better candidate. But it starts at the core, and Donald is rotten to his.
