Shout out to various mom groups that organized, canvassed and door knocked for Gina, all in hopes of saving the Texas public education from the christo-fascist legislators who have been gutting the funding and changing the curriculum to indoctrinate the kids with their religious believes.

Good to have that hateful little man out. I never would have believed it if you predicted it.

    I think this changes everything.

Texas has been a non-voting State for decades. This shows what is possible, and that scares Republicans.

    Good. I hope they’re terrified.

Talarico just put all these down ballot mostly unknown and extremely underfunded candidates on his shoulders and shit stomped the Republican party. If he isn’t the next Dem nominee for president I’ll eat my cowboy hat.

I loved the way El-Sayed spoke and addresses people, I think a 2028 Run would be too soon, but let’s check back in 2032

Honestly, I don’t think I’d want to see him as the presidential candidate next. He’s very young and after being president you are mostly spent as a politician. Look at Obama. He could have had a longer productive career if he hadn’t been president as early as he was. Talarico I’d hope to see for two or three full cycles as a Senator. If he’s then elected president he’d still be young, but more experienced.

At the same time you constantly hear Amercans complaining that their politicians are too old and too out of touch.

The president should be older though, and experienced.
If it came to a 50 year old vs a 35 year old, I’m voting for the older guy. The younger will be spending too much time on Tik Tok.

The lineup is stacked for Democrats going into 2028. There are so many options – AOC, Talarico, El-Sayed, hell even Michelle Obama if we just want an auto-win. This midterm win sets the next Dem President up so well. I wonder if we could make Senate control filibuster-proof supermajority in '28.

I knew Talarico could do it the very first time I heard him speak over 2-years-ago. He has a solid platform and packages it in a way anyone can understand, including religious conservatives.

I’m not sure Michelle Obama would be an auto win. I’d like to think America is ready to elect a woman to the presidency, but I wouldn’t bet my savings on it.

It’s an effective tool, I think they need to dispense with the written filibuster and return to oral. If you are passionate enough that you want to stop a bill on your own, be prepared to blather

Agreed, I think this is the way. It’s also somewhat self-limiting of senile geriatrics, incapable of standing for sustained lengths of time.

              The lazy filibuster must go.

And that may be in reach, given we’re past tie-breaking defecting traitors like Sinema.

Throwing off both Abbott and Paxton feels like finally getting the test results and finding out your gonorrhea has cleared.
