“[F]or a comment. This is ridiculous, for a comment,” he allegedly said. “I guess I’m gonna need a lawyer.”

    The comment:

Carillo in one post said Harris doesn’t “have a snowballs chance in hell which is exactly where you’re going and soon. I will cut your eyes out of your FUCKING head” and “will make sure you suffer a slow agonizing death."

He said he would “personally” set Harris on fire “if no one else does."

Carillo said Harris is “going to regret ever trying to become president because if that ever happened I will personally pluck out her eyes with a pair of pliers but first I will shoot and kill everyone that gets in my way that is a fucking promise.”

Even the most evil people I can think of. The most I’d want them to “suffer” is the realization of how terrible they are, before they enter the void. I don’t want them tortured. I don’t want to hurt them. I just want them to not exist.

The “comments” this guy made are psychotic. I don’t mean that in a hyperbolic kind of way. I mean in a “danger to society” kind of way.

Yep. I’ve written my fair share of angry opinionated comments. I managed to do it without threatening death on any elected officials though, or of anyone at all, and I especially did not do so while also claiming to be a member of the “law and order” party. Somehow, no matter how angry I got, I was able to recognize that assassination was probably not a good line to cross, even in rhetoric.

I certainly see your point. That said, devil’s advocate, the comment doesn’t refer merely to political opponents, but rather:

the most evil people I can think of

Can you honestly say that you wouldn’t painlessly snap, let’s say, a proven serial child rapist out of existence? I think I’d do it, if for some reason the justice system was unable to stop them.

all democrats are blacks and black sympathizers (same thing to these guys)

So they aren’t all wrong. Black folks have not only been wronged all throughout our nation’s history in obvious and non-obvious ways, IMO they have already been mostly thanklessly taking the brunt of what is coming for the rest of us if Trump gets in again for all this time, and as a people have arguably done so with amazing grace and restraint overall.

I mean, I’m not black, but if such a thing as a “black sympathizer” exists, I’m it.

you know what the fun part is? they literally don’t believe that shit, they NEED to hate blacks.

if you believe that society doesn’t matter and are a hyper individualist, then you need an individual reason why minorities aren’t doing well, if there is an entire “race” of people worse off, more impoverished, more likely to be incarcerated, more likely to be associated with drugs, etc… and you believe society doesn’t have an impact, then clearly something must be wrong with every POC, and you, their supporter, must be wanting to make things worse for everyone

I wonder if it is some kind of frustration burst release that finds a convenient path of list effort in the far-right propaganda. Like when people get furious alone inside their own car and call everybody names, or gamers threatening your life online after some loss, because there’s no perceived emotional consequences so they don’t need to restrain themselves, same idea but more extreme. I don’t think most of those people would have the heart of doing such horrible things if they were in front of their target and had to face the inevitable human empathy. Sociopaths with zero empathy are probably much rarer than Trump supporters.

It’s just like 1/6, there’s a few that are serious and dangerous, and they’re hiding among a large group of fucking idiots and using them as human shields.

Normalizing violence is something fascists always do before the actual violence, they’re getting people desensitized to the idea of it.

My dad was recently telling me a story from back in the 90s when he worked in a rural Wisconsin town close to the Illinois border and his co-workers would “joke” about shooting at cars with Illinois license plates. It’s crazy to me just how long the right has had a culture of sharing fantasies about being violent towards the left. It’s no wonder that the vast majority of mass shooters turn out to be far right nut jobs, they’ve been raised in a culture that glorifies violence against people they disagree with.

I feel like after one threat like this you shouldn’t legally be allowed to own weapons.

If found with an illegal weapon after these statements should be recited in front of a judge/jury during trial so they know why the person shouldn’t be allowed to have it. These kinds of threats are not things that normal, rational people make.

It’s because it’s All About Them. Their (as fragile as spun-sugar) ego is all-important, and anything that threatens it has to go. And since they wrap their ego up in Being a Republican, and Being a Strong White Man, and all the racist bullshit that goes with that stance, that makes Harris is a physical manifestation of everything they hate. Such ‘challenges’ to their ego cannot be allowed to exist.

I’d have to read the source, but what was the original action that prompted the FBI to ask for all these records? Just looking at this GETTR garbo site, it looks like profiles more/less could be public (as in i can look at accounts without an account), but they also say there they looked at his google map account.

This does feel a little 1st amendment breaking to me though. Maybe they considered the 4k comments so spammy it constituted an attempt to manipulate the forum? I can see the argument in the content, but what argument do they even have to consider it noteworthy. I suppose this is why most websites just ban toxic content like me, so they don’t have the feds on their door. Jesus.

Quick 11-page read here if you wanna try to answer your own question so you can check if I’m off base:

        1. Write law you can’t threaten [vice] president
        screenshot

        1. Find threats against VP
        screenshot

        1. Ask host for records, examine records, ask host (Google) of connected account for records

        2. Jail

1A is sacrosanct but the moron went too far.

Jokes (one & two) are dandy though :) Two is funnier while one is more extreme.

Years later in my late 20s or early 30s the secret service showed up at my door to ask about it. I had nearly forgotten I even made it by then. I don’t remember if Reagan was dead yet but he was on his llast legs. I guess they’re super thorough when it comes to anything other than that one roof near Trump’s rally
