U.S. News deals in events that have already happened, not speculation or opinion. Posts that don’t adhere to this expectation will be removed.
It’s nothing personal; rather, that’s the expectation users have when visiting, and elections do not change that.

Right, and when we have election results, we have established facts. Until then, it’s just grandstanding, and that isn’t news.
If you think “election results” == “facts”, you’re younger than I expected, NGL.
I ran a newsroom for the 2000 election and pushed deadline back twice, so you probably have my age pegged correctly. I’m just saying that results, whenever they come, however they may be challenged, are definitively news. Campaigning isn’t.
Just curious, where’s the line? Any of these headlines acceptable as news?

Well I’m sorry, but there’s a lot of news that’s political. Keep all of that at politics? Or does it belong here - since elections are things that happen.
I mean, yeah. There’s a politics community. So it makes vastly more sense to post political news there. The communities are intentionally separate so that people can choose to subscribe to one or both and get what they expect in their feed.
If there weren’t a space for that, I could see where you’re coming from, but this is just mundane categorization.

I might be misreading your tone, but there feels like a level of snark and matter of factness that is contradicting with many posts, that you yourself made, as well as other mods and admin.
I’m reiterating a rule that’s been standing for three years, since the creation of this community. You’ll note that most of my posts are not in U.S. News. At any rate, yes, the initial setup was approved higher than me, so “I don’t want to have to think about where I post” is a bad look. Just, like, post in politics if it’s political. Your photographic evidence of me posting events that already happened and calling me a hypocrite does less than you’d hope.
I’m just trying to keep things tidy. I’m not going to put a gardening post in the space community. There’s no need to put politics here.
