Being a Nazi is just a belief system, and y’all wouldn’t care if a Nazi got deported for being a Nazi.

      I’d care. As H. L. Mencken said:

The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one’s time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all.

I don’t believe he was arguing that Mahmound is a Nazi. He’s noting that Trump, Elon, the far right etc… defend the hell out of Nazi’s and white supremicists with “I’m not saying I agree with it, but I’ll defend your right to say it, we’re free speach purists”, right up until someone with ideology that strongly opposes their views starts also talking… then it’s shut him up, get rid of him.

I’m noting that Lemmy in general is perfectly fine with deporting people for their belief systems so long as it’s shitty enough and in a flavor Lemmy hates. But there’s plenty of flavors lemmey loves.

Lemmy loves communism, loves killing millions of people, especially Jews, loves racism, loves misgendering historical figures, I could probably go on. At this point, makes you wonder what Lemmy actually hates about Nazism, seeing as they love all the core tenets of killing Jews. Maybe it’s the fact they did the impossible and left their mom’s basement.

In any case, y’all don’t care about deporting someone over beliefs, so stop lying.

What’s your instance, is reddthat federated with hexbear?

You didn’t complain about pedophilia so hopefully you’re at least defederated from that segment…

Hey have you been screenshotting all that holocaust denier kinda lunacy (assuming like “[let’s literally] kill Jewish people [for fun, meet at the synagogue]” and not “arrest BN for war crimes”)? I’m bouta report ‘em soon as I see that BS - ppl should hang for genocide but obviously Jews are neutral at worst and awesome at best. (Reminds me I wanna watch Larry David, one of the planet’s funniest and happens to be Jewish… ppl might post his gifs here btw so it’s not entirely a jerk-off-Hitler platform)

PS: sorry you’ve read calls to violence against innocent people

Yeah, cause in a nazis belief system I should be enslaved or killed. There belief system is an existential threat to me, so yeah I’m not gonna cry if they’re further away from me.

Mahmouds belief system is only an existential threat to the apartheid Israeli state.

Where the fuck are the, “Mah rights!” people now that the government is actually trampling on the constitution?

I’m pretty sure the 1st amendment nullifies this argument.

There’s a school of thought out there where only citizens have the full rights granted by the constitution…

Meanwhile there’s no such thing as precedent or rule of law…

The Constitution does not support that school of thought. It is very clear, that the rights it affords are universal and apply to everyone in the country. It says nothing about being a citizen or not.

Tell that to the moron MAGA supporters. They keep saying that the US Constitution is only for US citizens, no one else.

I guess they don’t know about, “WE THE PEOPLE”.

You and I are the only US citizens. Those people faked their documents. They can prove it if El Salvador is willing to un-deport them.

That school of thought would have to include the fact that if rights don’t apply, neither do laws, and being “an illegal” wouldn’t exist because those rights and laws no longer apply.

It falls apart when you spend 0 seconds thinking about it.

That “school of thought” is just flat-out wrong. The Bill of Rights doesn’t say what rights people have; it says what Congress cannot do. When Congress can’t do it at all, who it can’t do it to is irrelevant.

Don’t see the word “citizen” in the first amendment.

Spoiler: even illegal immigrants are entitled to due process.

The 1st amendment is only effective if you have a government and a court that will enforce it.

We don’t have that here in America.

Since we’re just making up rules now… New rule…

Men with orange skin who are over 77 years of age and who happen to “have bone spurs” are now required to be greeted by a kick to their balls each time a new person enters the room.

The two-page memo, which was obtained by the Associated Press, does not allege any criminal conduct by Khalil, a legal permanent US resident and graduate student who served as spokesperson for campus activists last year during large demonstrations against Israel’s treatment of Palestinians and the war in Gaza. Rather, Rubio wrote Khalil could be expelled for his beliefs. He said that while Khalil’s activities were “otherwise lawful”, letting him remain in the country would undermine “US policy to combat antisemitism around the world and in the United States, in addition to efforts to protect Jewish students from harassment and violence in the United States”.
