I still don’t want my face to indirectly contact my own clean butt.

I want my face to directly contact someone else’s clean butt.

If it brings people comfort to not use the same towel, it’s probably not worth trying to push them away from that habit. It’s one thing to know it intellectually, and another to feel off-put by the idea.

It is however very important to push people into cleaning themselves properly. The amout of dirty asses around us at all times is staggering and terrifying.

If you’re part of the Bidet Master Race and have a stack of mini butt/genitals-towels for use after bidet-ing, the whole towel becomes face-&-body with no worries

You dry your entire body at the exact same time? I start at my head and work my towel down towards my feet. And then I throw the towel into the laundry.

Yes, at least the one I use for showering. But I don’t shower daily, to save water.

You could try reusing your towel a few times in order to save even more water, along with some electricity. Just hang it to dry in between.

My washing machine is not using less water because there’s less laundry in the drum.

Is it on a fixed schedule?

You should really wait until it’s full before doing the laundry… That way you use it less often and use less water.

My two full loads every week is not going to hurt the environment, no matter how much I get downvoted.

In a hotel, sure, I’ll reuse towels, but at home, no thanks.

At this point, all the stuff in the shower is sort of automatic. I’m usually thinking about other stuff.

Ew! That’s nasty! What if some girl meets you at a coffee shop, and wants to suck your toes??? You just gonna have nasty toes that “dirty shower water has run over them, so it’s fine”??? She’ll never want to deep throat your foot with that attitude!!!

So I feel slightly bad about this now, but I know there was a solid year where I didn’t wash my calves and below. I had been moved to a 0330 hours start time, and I was just a zombie when getting ready for work. I finally had adjusted everything after that year, and then it just hit me one day that I hadn’t been washing my calves or feet. I would just get in the shower, and then go head to thigh and get out. Neither the spouse or I shave the legs, so it’s not like that was taking care of the problem either.

And you know what? No one noticed. Not me, not coworkers, not the spouse, not the kids, not the dog (well, I don’t really know if the dog noticed), not extended family members that I saw once in a while, and nobody that ever said anything at the beach/pool. My skin looked the same, I didn’t have any extra odor… So I don’t know. I’m just one data point, but I sort of get the whole ‘no bathing’ movement. It’s maybe possible to get to the point where simply rinsing off muck and obvious grime is enough without having to scrub or clean. My personal opinion is that it would be nearly impossible in the more ‘yucky’ areas, like the groin and armpits, and you definitely want to have good care of the oils on your face and back/shoulders.

Sucking toes may not have been in there, but plenty of feet intimate moments did occur without issue. /shrug

Biggest mistake is not repeating the wash-rinse twice. Ask a hairdresser why they do it that way.

I use far far less if I use a very small amount twice rather than a lot once. The shampoo will mix with oils in your hair and when you wash once you just keep rubbing the oil and detergent mix back onto yourself. Using a small amount and rinsing it off will make it function far better.

If you read your shampoo label, it probably says the same thing.

Rinse, apply a small amount of shampoo, wash, apply some more shampoo, wash again.

This way, you first remove most of the oil from your hair, and the second time you actually clean it and the scalp.

        In a way, it’s like a dishwasher works with a pre-wash cycle.

Wash, rinse, repeat… It’s an infinite loop, there is no exit statement. How many repeats? Sounds like “Big Hair” just wants us to buy more product.

I just looked at my head and shoulders bottle and it does recommend rinse and repeat. It does not however discuss why. I was more pointing out that the first person I was replying to could have just shared the information that they seem to have rather than saying ask someone.

I wash my hair once a week with water only, and it’s fine.
Doesn’t smell, doesn’t look greasy, and my scalp is much healthier than when I still used shampoo.
