The Best part is that in Canada we are PAYING EXTRA to keep the homeless miserable. It’s cheaper to house them because living on the streets is a strain on our public health care and justice systems. Yet our Conservatives fight housing the homeless at every turn! I never thought of conservatives as people who like to pay extra taxes towards the homeless but I guess they’re willing to do it as long as it’s making them suffer and not improving their lives.
Conservatives everywhere seem to be penny-wise and pound foolish. Housing the homeless provides them with an address, which makes landing employment easier than being on the street, and puts them on track to eventually getting off assistance. Being on the streets opens a person up to being attacked, trafficked, and succumbing to diseases related to exposure. This puts a strain on the healthcare system and law enforcement. Conservatives would rather slash taxes and assistance to save money now, and let the snowballing problem be someone else’s problem in the future; that thinking is on par with how capitalists think. Maximum money now, fuck the big picture. We should stop calling them conservatives, and start calling them capitalists, because they sure as hell aren’t trying to conserve anything, let alone human life.
Cruelty is the point
That is the universal guiding principle of conservatism - to inflict suffering and to revel in the suffering of others.
Right now they’re saying it’s the democrat’s fault they can’t feed the poor.
What about the last 248 years though?

Literally less darkskinned immigrants. In Sweden they manage to deport a bunch of people from non-european decent. They did it by saying “you don’t make enough money, working full time in elder care, fuck off”. Like the meme above, they pissed on both immigrants and Swedish citizens. Immigrants get deported, citizens get to stay poor, by their own admission. Anyway. They say it is to open up jobs for people already living in Sweden (that is their way of phrasing it). But there are not hundreds of people just waiting for these jobs. So they had to quickly try and get EU immigrants instead. Instead of these already swedish speaking employees who live here that the people they care for already know. They tried to replace them with non-swedish speaking immigrants who are completely new.
Living in the Netherlands, I see a lot of the same sentiment, and I’ve got to ask; Which EU immigrants? We have a shortage of people willing to work in elder care over here, because the pay is shit, and I think it is so in most of the EU. It also gives strong Orban vibes, who kicks out the dark immigrants from Hungary so he can replace them with Asian immigrants.
/rant because it’s election day tomorrow.
