Georgia’s youngest mayor, Jayden Williams, 23, was impeached over allegations of misusing $4,000 in city funds and sexting an 18-year-old.

accused of using his city purchasing card for more than $4,000 in personal expenses, including restaurant meals, clothing, haircuts and a movie, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
He reportedly spent $2,600 on gas and used a city vehicle for personal purposes.
According to Williams’ testimony, he did not intend to use city funds and later repaid the money, Fox 5 reported.
He further claimed the city-issued card looked similar to his personal card and said he later replaced the cards to avoid future confusion, the outlet reported.
NYPost is a right wing propaganda rag and are only relishing this because he’s black. Yes let’s go after corrupt politicians but 4k is peanuts compared to what the old white men are getting away with right fucking now.
Sounds like insiders in the government were constantly looking for any minor excuse to impeach him.
That said, if he really is guilty of anything then it should be addressed.
But this is so minor. How about we go after the politicians stealing millions and billions of dollars?

While I’m all for making an example out of corrupt politicians, this guy got targeted for $4k, while a pedophile is grifting billions. He’s not straight, rich and White, so it makes sense.
The law only applies to those who aren’t of the privileged capital class.

We had that happen to a young mayor in Texas and he was white and 21. He was using city supplies and funds for his private newspaper.
Pedophiles and child molesters are different things. Pedophiles don’t commit sex crimes any more than the general population does. It’s ableism and it’s scapegoating; the real child molesters aren’t pedophiles, they’re our fucked up family members and people we trust.

A 23-year-old having a relationship with an 18-year-old isn’t that creepy. They’re both pretty much kids still, at least in terms of brain development and experience.
It’s legal. But I think most people would agree its very weird.
I think it’s pretty creepy. The maturity difference alone makes it creepy. It doesn’t matter when you’re 25+ , but at their age it matters.

I personally wasn’t that different from 18 to 23. And kids are growing up much slower, at least emotionally, than they were before.
I am definitely going off my own experience, I guess it is pretty different for everybody.
